Minion Land Coming to Universal Orlando

I guess it's nice that it continues the city street look that covers most of the park now. They also took the same concept from Fast Food Boulevard and turned one restaurant into the illusion of multiple buildings.

Still, meh. And not a fan of painting one part of the Transformers building to match it.

While it was impressive to see how fast it got built, the decision to have the Transformers building be a big grey box in the middle of the park was very short sighted. Painting one side aqua doesn't do much to make it better.

Yeah. Trying to mask it is somehow worse than at least keeping the whole thing thematically cohesive.

I love the way the area is going to look. The Secret Life of Pets would fit right in and blend New York and Minion Land seamlessly.

I think they should do away with all of the boxy soundstages. The exteriors are boring looking and not at all pleasing to the eye, like for example Walt Disney Studios in France.

I wonder how much those sound stages make them? HHN alone would pay for them......

The interior of the Minions Cafe is a significant downgrade from the Monsters Cafe in terms of theming. It's basically a plain looking fast food restaurant with a handful of props and a bunch of minion memes on the walls.

While I think the exterior placemaking is an upgrade for the park, I don't know what they were thinking with the interior. I'd hardly even call it themed. If we weren't getting an entire Monsters land in another park, I'd be pretty peeved right now. At least the food looks moderately interesting.

Hopefully the new attraction - whilst not sounding particularly groundbreaking - will not be a screen attraction, and thus reduce the eye strain fatigue in that area of Studios.

It's like their takeaway was that lots of minions memes online = what people what to see in a minions restaurant. Maybe they're right, I don't know. I was expecting something more like Toadstool Cafe.
