Super-NES-Classic-Edition

In 2016, Nintendo released the NES Classic Edition, a cute little plug-and-play system that comes with 30 classic NES games. Despite only being made to be something to fill the gap between the Wii-U and Switch, the NES Classic sold very well. So well that Nintendo released the SNES Classic Edition in 2017, with 20 classic SNES games on it (plus a bonus game). Nintendo's success caught the attention of other gaming companies who wanted a piece of the pie. Mainly Sega with their Sega Genesis Mini and Sony with their PlayStation Classic.
However, in an interview, former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé said that they have no plans to make any more classic systems and focus on releasing older games through the Nintendo Switch Online service.

But what if they didn't?
In this thread I'll be detailing the game lists for Classic Editions of the rest of Nintendo's home consoles and handhelds, as well as the rest of Sega and Sony's systems (And Xbox too, why not).
So, sit back, relax, and get ready to see some classics!

*there's some debate as to whether the Virtual Boy is a handheld or not, but Nintendo officially said it was a handheld so it counts
Another note: I know that the Sega Master System, Game Gear, PSP, PS Vita, and XB360 are missing, but I can't think of any games for those

Almost all system lists will have 20 games, no bonuses.

Ground Rules (for Nintendo):

Only games released in North America
All games must have had a physical release
No M-Rated games
No licensed games
No game compilations

Honorable mentions will be listed for games that don't make the cut

As for Sony, Sega, and Xbox, anything's on the table.

Really because the snes online has some Japan exclusive games plus some were downloadable on the Wii shop channel so N64 classic should have some like Sin & Punishment, and the original Animal Forest even the Japan game playing a godlike giant, and the N64DD Mario Paint. As for GameCube you kinda left some Sonic games that were made after SEGA discontinued the Dreamcast becoming a third party company.

I would have also added one of the Sonic games, they were a big part of the console. If we don’t count Wind Waker as a “puzzle” game, Puyo Puyo Fever would work.

The only games Sonic had on GC were ports of the Adventure games, and I'm saving those for the Dreamcast Classic.
Puyo Puyo Fever is a good pick, I'll give you that.

Actually, it also had three more; Heroes, Shadow, and Riders. Fever is also on Dreamcast.

On the Wii: Sonic Colors was liked in its day but is now considered an uninspiring game that has aged badly. Black Knight, meanwhile has become an underrated gem. Super Paper Mario should have gotten in too, as SMG2 just feels like more of the same.

Those other Sonic games were multiplats, they didn't really define the GC era. But I see where you're coming from, they are decent games.
Didn't know Black Knight had a decent following, I just think Colors was more generation-defining, y'know?
I disagree on SMG2, while the gameplay is pretty similar to the OG, the level design and worlds are pretty unique and well designed. It brings some new stuff to the table and there are many people that prefer it over the first, I'd imagine some would be mad if it didn't make the cut.
SHOOT YOU'RE RIGHT I FORGOT SUPER PAPER MARIO! Dang it!

I’d only include one NSMB game, and Color Splash is decisively unpopular. But then again, what other games are there?

Also, I have another thing; SNES Classic+, a new SNES Classic with 30 base games like the NES Classic;
The new additions are;

* Megaman 7
* Terranigma
* Illusion of Gaia
* Demon’s Crest
* Final Fight 3
* Chrono Trigger
* Actraiser
* Ganbare Goemon
* Earthworm Jim
* Megaman X2
