Mini Golf Question

Hi,

My family and I will be going to Disney in only 13 days!!! We decided to go with APs for the first time ever, so im excited about that. We would like to try one of the mini golf courses since the AP gives us 50% off.

I was wondering if it is possible to call and reserve tee-times. If not, went is the best time to avoid crowds? Also, we will probably end up doing both courses over the next year, but which would you recommend?

Winter Summer is the BEST

I prefer WinterSummer over Fantasia. You can not call ahead for tee times however make sure that you do not go from 5-8 in the evening. This always seems to be the most crowed time. Winter Summer seems never to really be that crowed but Fantasia always has a wait. :wave:

We did Fantasia Gardens last year (our first time mini golfing in WDW) and had a great time! We arrived about 3pm. It was very warm, but we avoided the late afternoon thunderstorms. The course wasn't all that hard, but still challenging. We headed over to the Boardwalk afterward & had dinner at the ESPN Club. I don't think you could go wrong using either course. :wave:

I have not done minnie golf done there. It was too hot the one day we were gonna hit it but I still want to give it a shot.

I just called 407-WDW-PLAY to make a tee time for Winter Summerland, but they said they do not take them for single groups. You can make a reservation for a large birthday party, though.

As for the best time to go, they did not know when the course was least crowded, but did recommend early in the day or late at night to avoid the heat. Hours are 10:00am-11:00pm.

I would go to Fantasia Gardens. I think its funner. There are 2 courses a real mini golf course and a litteral mini golf course with sand traps and everything.

I went to Fantasia and loved it. Not sure which is better, as I haven't been to WinterSummerland, but Fantasia was lots of fun. We went very late, about 10:30pm, and had no problem getting in and it wasn't crowded at all.

We have been to both mini courses several times. For young children I would recommend Wintersummer Land. It has more interactive holes that will keep a child very interested.

As for crowds, we have never had trouble at Wintersummer but always seem to be waiting at Fantasia. Of course, we are usually at WDW in Dec or Jan when BB is closed.

I have found wintersummerland much easier to play, it seems almost as if the holes are indented into the ground so that balls are more likely to go in. Fantasia Gardens is always fun but a bit more technical, if you play a lot of mini golf, i'd recomend pirates cove or congo as they are ussually more challenging

My wife and I were down in May and played all three.

My vote is for Winterland. We thought it was more fun than Summerland.

Fantasia was nice but not as tricked out as W/S.

Good thing you have the 50% off, it was a little pricey but fun.

We went at night to W/S and during the day for Fantasia, but in May crowds really aren't an issue.

I'm not a fan of Winter Summerland. Tried it once, it was amusing, but nothing substantial. I suppose it's not bad if you do one of the courses, but if you do both, you will get bored because some of the holes are exactly the same, just themed differently.

The courses at Fantasia Gardens, on the other hand, are black and white. The standard minigolf courseis like any other mini golf course, but with a Fantasia theme. It's fun, and not tacky at all.

The other course, Fantasia Fairways, is a blast to play. It's like a miniature golf course in that it has hazards, tees, sand traps, etc. You can either play cautios and putt through a lot of the holes, or you can smack the ball and try to go through bushes or ricochet off a boulder. It's mue bueno.

We played the Fantasia Gardens easy course on the day we left a couple of years ago, like at 11 a-m, with no waiting.

Played the fairways course the next year late at night, about 10 p-m, again with no waiting.

2 more questions though:

1. We have 6 people with us, so would we need to split into 2 groups? I know at many courses, they split up groups of 4 or more.

2. Someone mentioned that you can reserve tee times in person at the course. If we did Fantasia Gardens, is it easy to get there from EPCOT? On the same note, how is Disney transportation from/ to Winter Summerland after BB closes?

Yes you'd need to split into two groups, there's a max of four players per group.

We chose to go to Fantasia Gardens when we went last fall. There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon in November. I chose FG because I heard Winterland/Summerland is a Santa and Elves theme and I wanted Disney!! I wish we'd watched Fantasia right before going to WDW though so my kids would have caught as many references as the adults did.
