Millennium Village - is it use regularly for anything?

It appears huge. Do they fill it with conventions constantly or is it just a big white bag of air taking up space.

Speaking of which, what is it made of? It looks like some kind of plastic/vinyl composite stretched over metal ribs. Is it more substantial that that?

Anyone been inside of it lately? Everyone, spill your guts...

I was just inside it a few weeks ago at the Teddy Bear and Doll show. I really couldn't care less about the expensive teddy bears and dolls, but I had never been inside and wanted to check it out. I'm not sure about its construction, but it certainly doesn't look permanent like the World Showcase Pavilions.

I really wish I got to see Millennium Village when it operated.

Thanks both of you for replying. So the building is used for infomercial quality venues. Well if that aint teddy bear kah kah I don't know what is.

I asked the question because I wondered why the company couldn't put in a rapids river adventure for canada which is being discussed in another thread. As it stands now... there is virtually no room for such a thing unless they go north and rip out a major electronics substation and roads and other things... yet the company has done more drastic things in the past.

My (very biased) opinion is that the millinium village structure was also to be a temporary facility housing the 14 month celebration of added world countries in 2000.

As with the want, Disney (again, in my opinion) determined they could make a good deal of money by using it as continued convention space beyond its intended life span.

I could be very wrong, but that's how I've always thought of it. It is a shame, because that is space that could be used to expand Canada or to add an entirely new country (maybe not enough room with Soarin' now?).

Anyway, it's still there and used for events (as is what feels like 10+% of Epcot).

Dont rip out that substation, then soarin' won't work =(

But in back of canada, if you were to move the break trailer and a few trees, you would have lots of room. The new show building would be very close to the JII show building, but there is space :)

now where is that other thread
