Milk at WDW

My kids also had to drink whole milk too, still skinny things as young adults. At the resort I'd grab the then 2% and dump a couple real creams meant for coffee into the carton. I also let them drink the chocolate milk on vacation because it masked the taste of the 2% (ya they could tell).

I can still tell to this day. Most people don't realize it but nonfat and 2% milke (1 as well) have more sugar than whole milk. Whole milk isn't really that much more unhealthy than the others and for people like me who have a certain degree of lactose intolerance that extra milk sugar between whole and 2% is enough to give us our tummy aches. It took my doctors 22 years to figure out that was why I was getting sick in school when I was younger. They never figured it out while I was in school and then when I got to college a dr asked me what milk I drank at school. We did a food journal and sure enough the 2% and low/no fat milk was the stomach churner.

More common than we realize, both of my kids are lactose intolerant also. The other thing that sets off tummy aches is sugar free gum. There is an artificial substitute sweetening ingredient in there that sets off our whole family. It was my DD who finally figured out the correlation. Gum was never in a food journal.

Hmm I'll have to watch out for sugar free gum. My friends think I'm crazy when I say I can have whole milk but not any others. I drink soy or almond when I can but too much soy milk can be just as bad for you as too much regular milk so I split how much I use either.

Just got back from my trip. The only place I consistently found whole milk was at the coffee stands. I suppose they use it for lattes etc. I was able to buy a large for about $3, which was just enough for 2 8 oz bottles.

Hope that helps anyone else looking for whole milk.
