Military salute discount

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Does anyone know if veterans are eligible for the 40% discount?
My husband served in the Army for almost 10 years and got out in Dec. 2003. We are planning to visit again fall 2010 and if we could get these types of discounts that would be great..esp. If they do this again next year.

I'm sorry, it is only available to retired veterans. Also, it's been several years since the last Armed Forces Salute, so it's unlikely Disney would do it again next year.

If you're flexible with your trip, Shades of Green usually opens itself to all veterans in January and February.:)

When my wife and I were picking up our annual passes at will call in Epcot, there was a military guy asking about a discount or program that was currently going on so I believe there is

Whatever it is it can never be enough for what they do. I wish they something for Law Enforcement though

There is a military room only discount for up to 40% select resorts. you also get a free 5 day ticket and can purchase more for your family for $99. Your ticket would have park hopper and water parks and more. I booked for my grandmother who is a widow, but my grandfather was a 100% disabled vet so not such about the retired thing.

100% disabled vets have retired member privileges and ID cards. So yes, even though they are not listed specifically in the rules, Disney has been including them. They will check ID cards when you activate or purchase tickets and when you check in to the resort if you are using the 40% off discount.
