Disney does not offer any military discounts. Discounted tickets can be obtained at Shades of Green, the Dept. of Defense-owned hotel on Disney property. Have you looked into staying there? It's is a great resort with very, very reasonable prices. Typically they are less $ than the Disney value resorts, and have many more amenities. Price is according to rank.
Check out http://www.shadesofgreen.org. They have ticket prices listed, as well as room rates.

What she said.

And I don't know of any special perks for soldiers who get back.

The last time I remember Disney doing anything for military was in fall 2005.

I happen to be still associated with the military (Air Force National Guard, going on 12 years now), and I can say the best resort for your money out there is the Shades of Green. They will take care of you.

Discount "stars and stripes" attraction tickets, room rates based on rank, 24-hour check in, the works.

In addition, I found this out, show your military ID card when ordering food. I did that the first day I arrived on Disney property -- it was at the Cooks of Dublin (right next to Ragland Road). I ordered some fish and chips and a drink. I showed the cast member my military ID as well as my credit card and he said "thank you for serving" and he knocked off 25% off the bill.

I'm not saying this will happen to you, but being in the military has its privileges. Oh, and when arriving at Orlando International Airport I took a Mears shuttle to WDW and after showing my military ID, I received a 20-30% discount on my round-trip shuttle.

Here's some additional info on Shades of Green, located across the street from the Polynesian Hotel.

Since you already have your answers regarding SOG. However if you do end staying there tell them that you just got back from the war and they may give you an extra discount. When my boyfriend and I stayed at SOG during his R&R in 2004, we received 30% off our bill b/c he was on his R&R and had his papers in hand. Just an idea.

EDIT: here's what I'm talking about http://www.shadesofgreen.org/OEFOIF.htm

As long as you're in Orlando you should also look into visiting Sea World one day or so, they have an excellent military discount program, I believe they let military in for free although I'm not sure what the discount is for family members. Just something you might want to take advantage of if you have the time to do non-Disney stuff as well.

You may also want to visit the travel agent on base. They have, in the past had discounted tickets when I was visiting my brother on Pendleton. Thank you all for your service.

We used this a few years ago at Sesame Place. We are using it again this year at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. You must get a ticket voucher online first.

I was told the that the tickets sold at Shades of Green aren't really discounted but are sold without sales tax. I'm not sure if this is true or not. You can also get tickets at your base recreation office.

Also lots of hotels offer military rates if you are willing to stay off property. Make sure that you don't need orders to get it though. Some hotels want those and others just need to see your id.

SOG tickets are like you said - tickets without sales tax, technically not discounted.

Why would a hotel need proof of what job you perform in the military in order to give you a discount? That's the goofiest thing I've ever heard.

Some hotels are close to military bases. They only offer the discount if you are deployed to that base. I know it's kind of strange. I didn't get it at first either.
