Military discount question

We are booked in a 5a on the Dream for 2/27.
Military discounts have been announced for cat 5a on the dream for 2/27.
Can I switch to the military discount? We are already paid in full and two weeks under the 75 days. @Disneyfalcon or @sweetpee_1993 do you know?

Just called. We would have to cancel and rebook. Losing our deposit and possibly the stateroom (that is adjoining with my in laws). We would save a little over $200 after all of that. I can't decide if it is worth it. To lose our room and port arrival time etc...

That's correct for the military discount unfortunately. We had to do the same at Thanksgiving. We lost about $1200 each, but we still got $1200 back so we did it. DCL made sure we kept everything we reserved.

I did write DCL a letter expressing how disappointing it is that that is how the military discount works when the Florida resident rates can be applied to existing reservations at any point. I'm not trying to start a letter writing campaign, but it probably won't change unless enough people say something.

It is discouraging, I agree.
We changed rooms because we had to change categories. if we had stayed the same category they can usually work something out. They moved over our Palo, Remy, etc. they had a 10:45 arrival time and we did have 10:30 so I didn't worry about that one.
