So... Mike Fink Keelboats are closed that brings this question to mind. Is Tom Sawyer Island closed now? Wasn't that the only way to get across to the island? Well I thought I would ask. Poor Keelboats.:(

Nope, guests are brought on to Tom Sawyers Islands by a series of rafts.. They don't look too much like rafts, with motor in the back and siderails, but...
The Keelboats were just an attraction that went around the lake.

That is what Disney tells you, but it is not true at all. They have not been open since they originally closed. They also put the Haunted Mansion fastpass machines in the former keelboat entrance.

Hi, this is my first post. I love the site. I am a season pass holder here in Florida and I remember last summer the Keelboats were open. I know because my wife and I went on them and wondered why they were not open more often. It was way crowded but worth it. There is another entrance to them down by the Tom Sawyer river raft entrance. Again that was over a year ago and things may have changed since then....:) Just trying to help.

Then I was wrong, because they are never open when I am there. I also remembered the entrance being near the HM so i figured the Fastpass machines ended the ride.

There was an entrance by the HM. But yes, the fast pass has taken that up. It's too bad it's not open more often. My wife and I really enjoyed it.

It was cool when they were open last year. If it had not been June and the place had not been packed to capacity. It probably would have been more fun. The boat was kinda crowded. It was a nice change of pace to ride something new. Well new to me anyway. Oh, and if your wondering... that was the first and last time I ever try to go in June again. Disney is fun but it was way too hot and way too crowded. But then again I have lived in Florida for over 20 years now and probably should have known better... :animwink:
