Mid-Day Water Parks Breaks

There's a chance we'll be heading to WDW this summer, and if we go, the tickets we'll be getting have the water parks included. I wouldn't normally get this option on our tickets, but they are group tickets that would automatically have it included.

We normally just take mid-day breaks to cool off at the resort pool on a summer trip, but with the water parks included on the tickets...would it be worth mid-day breaks at BB or TL instead of the resort pool? I'm sure just like the 4 main gates, the water parks also get crowded as the day progresses and I know our odds of getting lounge chairs would be slim to none, so is it even worth it if we're not getting there around the time they open? BB doesn't really appeal to me as much, but TL looks pretty sweet...especially Shark Reef and it would be something new at WDW for us to try.

Thoughts?

The only time we've ever gone in the summer (way too hot for us) we went to the water parks every afternoon to cool off. We didn't realize that FL usually has an afternoon thunderstorm and we seemed to time it just right for the afternoon downpour. However, it worked out great for us since it cleared the parks out for us and the storm only lasted for about 30 minutes before they opened the slides back up :D But when we go during the other months during the year, we love to just relax in the lazy rivers and forget about the lounge chairs. The Shark Reef line seems to move fairly quick since they don't let you dilly dally in the reef (they make you swim right across). It's worth it IMO to cool off and see some great waterpark theming. Have fun!

The problem with the TL and BB is that all the line engineering Disney has perfected over the decades go out the window at a water park. It's simply first in, first out and there is no way to increase capacity or divert the crowds. Personally, the resort pools are so nice, I'd rather take a mid-day break there as opposed to the water parks.

For us the afternoon break is a time to relax and recharge, I don't think hitting a waterpark during our 3 to 4 hour down time would fit that bill. I think the hotel pool would be a better option for this.

As the water parks are already included in your tickets, I would go for afternoon or two as its already paid for. I know that when we have spent the day at the water park, it really drained us. Make sure to use sunscreen as where you put on for the parks, may not get everywhere in the water parks. I burned the tops of my feet once, so walking the next several days was tough.
