Hi,

I'm planning a west coast SoCal trip to see my sister in San Diego. I'll be flying into LAX and staying my first few days at Disneyland before contining to San Diego.

Thinking of mid-April. Was wondering how Disneyland in April is for those of you that regularly visit the park. What can I expect -- anything big planned?

This will be my first visit in nine years (June 1999).

Thanks!

In my experience, the park's crowd level increases after Spring break. The calendar has DL closing at 10 pm during the week. That means that they are expecting a bit more of a crowd...not huge crowds, but the parks won't be empty. Weekends are always very crowded, so if you can avoid that, the less crowds you'll have to face. To avoid lines and crowds- get there at opening and use fastpass wisely.

Nothing big is really planned for the Resort. IASW and the Carrousel will be down in DL, and the new Pixar Play Parade in DCA will be going (according to the calendar).

Hope you have a great trip! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Good news, thank you. If all works well, I'm flying in late on a Monday into LAX and won't be at Disneyland until Tuesday. Then Wednesday - Saturday I'm in San Diego.

As I said, I've been to the park in Anaheim before -- late June 1999 -- and at the time California Adventure was being built.

I just have to work on securing a hotel near the park (and I'm on that, looking where I stayed last time -- about a block from the convention center on Katella Avenue).

I'm hoping my sister can meet me at LAX or just drive into Anaheim and meet me at the hotel, wherever I end up staying. Then we can drive down to San Diego that Wednesday morning and chill the rest of the time I'm down there.

I'm really looking forward to seeing DCA for the first time, riding Space Mountain since it's upgrade, riding Indiana Jones as much as I can, and hitting the downtown region.

I met my dad in Los Angeles in June 1999 -- he in Cleveland me and in Anchorage. We stayed at the Biltmore and he had a convention down the street next to The Staples Center (was not open). After a few days with the dad, he left for Cleveland and I left for a day in Anaheim before heading back to Anchorage. It was during the summer so it was interesting that I got to see "darkness" and fireworks.

On top of that most of the streets were shut down in downtown LA for a movie shoot with Robert DeNiro -- the movie "15 Minutes." I was waiting for a bus to take me to Anaheim and met Mr. DeNiro briefly as they were filming a chase scene in the streets of "New York."

Ah, the memories and soon to be more in a couple of months.

Have fun a2gragix!! Being there on a Wednesday will be great. There are lots of very convenient hotels right across the street from the park. So much has changed since you were there - and you will LOVE Space Moutain!!:sohappy:
