We will be going to WDW next week with our 4 and 6 year old children. I am planning on going on Tuesday but see that the park closes early due to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas. Ofcourse we could buy tickets at $65 per adult and $52 per child running us over $200 if we want the extra time in the park that day. I was wondering if anyone knows much about this event and if it is even worth the extra money.

I have gone the past three years and have absolutely LOVED it.
It is SO worth the money....
The parade and fireworks show are fantastic, but the coolest part is when they make it snow on main street.
Theres also special addition merchandise along with special parties and attractions
Finally, throughout the party you get free hot chocolate and sugar cookies..
There is christmas music playing and an overall great experience...
Fun for all ages...
Hope this helped

Are you just going for the one day and not using multi-day park tickets? In that case, I would suggest just going for the party and spending the day elsewhere. You can get into the MK at 4pm with your party ticket, and that way you'll have time to ride some rides and do the special party events. If you're paying full price for one day tickets already, I wouldn't spend another $60 apiece for the evening in the park. I especially wouldn't do it with your children that young where you might not stay for the full party. I personally don't think it's worth it, but that's just me.

It all depends on what your goal is. If you go to the party to enjoy the party activities, you should still have time for some rides as well. But you would need to go into it knowing it would be a shortened ride day. Alternatively, you could just do rides. The cost of a party ticket works out to about the same or less per hour, since you get 4-12 with the party ticket for 20 bucks less than a single day ticket from 9-7.

yeah I'd just get the MVMCP tickets and be there from 4pm to midnight...that's plenty of time and you won't have to rush to get to the park early in the day.

MVMCP is most definitely worth it. The extra Christmas atmosphere they add is really something else. Little to no wait for rides when I went along with hot chocolate and cookies everywhere you turn!

I'm going in December and I can't wait for the MVMCP more than anything.

You WONT regret it.

we really like it and have gone the past 3 years but yes it is a bit pricy. i will say i think you get a little more for your money (with kids) doing mnsshp but that's my opinion.

We have been doing to Christmas parties for many years, we still have great fun at them but feel they are letting too many people in now to these hard ticket events. It used to be limited enough that we could practically walk on rides and see all of the shows easily.

Last year attractions such as Space Mountain were well over an hour wait during the Christmas party we attended.

So, if you are going for the parade, fireworks and experience (Remember free Hot Chocolate and Christmas Cookies all night) it is a great event. On the other hand if you want to use the time to get lots of rides in, the parties are no where near as limited as they used to be so be prepared to queue.

I'm going to the party for the first time this year and was wondering is there many "special" character meets?

I went to MNSSHP last year and hit up all the "special" characters meets i.e the seven dwarfs, mad hatter, all the Disney Villains, and the usually characters but in costumes like Pooh and friends.

So I'm wondering since the dwarfs was an hr and half wait even with being there at 6pm in line is there going to be a character like that in MVMCP meaning with a long wait time?

Or any other special characters? Micky, pooh and friends in there Christmas outfits I know of but I like to hit them all.

Just need to know if I need to buy tickets for the event twice like I did for MNSSHP so I can ensure I get to do EVERYTHING.

Don't care about the rides since last year going to the halloween party I had no time for rides since I was doing everything the party offered.
