What rides are usually open durring this event?
Anyone who has done it in the past would be helpful?
Is it the same rides that are open on E-ride nights?
I have a 3 & 4 year old and trying to decide to do this or not?
I would prefer Fantsyland to be open and rides they can enjoy instead of Space Mtn. I was thinking since is mainly a kid event they would have Fantasyland open.

We attend last year with our 1 1/2 year old and all the rides were open. Attending again this year with a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old. Can't wait.

Fantasyland going to be running, The Haunted Mansion (Obviously) and more than likely, the Mt. gang (Splash, Thunder and Space), Proivided its still there , AE. :lookaround:

Those are the ones I believe will be open, of course there will be more but those are off the top of my head.

I know Pirates of the Carribean was open. All of Fantasyland was open because we ended riding most of them. Buzz Lightyear was open as well. They also have the parade twice and a fireworks show.

We were there last year (2002) and all the rides were open. CM's give a trick or treat bag to everyone attending. At first my husband and I felt foolish trick or treating but then we got into the spirit and held our bag open right along with our children!

You have to see the parade - be there early because the headless horseman rides down before the parade starts. There is no real warning that he's coming you'll just hear/feel his hooves hitting the payment. This was truly a goosebump kind of feeling - I wouldn't miss this for anything.

Have a great time! :sohappy:

Last year I remember these being open: Space Mtn, AE, Buzz Astro Orbiter, TTA, Small World, Pooh, Snow White, Dumbo, HM, BTMRR, PotC.

Jungle Cruise, Tom Sawyers Island, and the Walt Disney Railroad were NOT open. Or at least these were not.

This year BTMRR is supposed to be down for rehab.

I was there during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween on Oct. 17th of last year. I'd rented out the rose garden by the castle to propose to my fiance, and we had a blast. The park was so packed that, when the fireworks came around, we had prime viewing area completely to ourselves. ( http://staff.beaumont.k12.tx.us/kbland/disneyworld/thursday/disney4.htm near the bottom)

We're both huge Disney junkies as well as Halloween freaks, so it was a great combination. All of the rides were open, as far as I know, and there were different events going on around the park, like at the Tomorrowland Stage and such.

All of the little atmospheric touches were great, too. There was fog all over the place, giant Mickey pumpkins in spots, but my favorite was at the exit. The woman from the end of the Haunted Mansion was piped over the speakers saying her "Come baaaaaack...."

It's very kid friendly, but a hoot for fun-loving adults as well. (Plus, Nestle sponsored it last year, I think - which means all of the candy was real quality stuff, not generic bags of "Chocolate Candy Food."

When you say parade, do you mean Spectromagic or is it a special Halloween parade. If it is a Halloween parade is it good, lots of floats etc or is it just a few villians walking down the street? Also are the rides long waits? Fastpass durring the party?

It is a Halloween parade with lots of floats, villians and characters dressed up. Pretty good. And the Headless Horseman rides through before hand, setting the mood. It was not too crowd and we didn't wait long for rides. Don't remember if FastPass worked or not.

Oh my gosh, I just got chills thinking about the halloween party last year. The parade was excellent, with the headless horseman starting it all off. Riding the rides at night was great. Its better than the summer when its dark because its not burning up . The crowds for the lines arent that bad due to the limited number of people they let in the park for the party. If you havent been before and you have the chance to go I say that it is a MUST DO. We had so much fun I can hardly wait.

Two words: Must Do!!!

I'm a huge fan of MNSSHP. Yes all the rides are open, but it is the atmosphere that makes it great. The lights, the fog, the music..... Mainstreet is the best. The parade is great. My kids got to be in the parade last year and it was the highlight of our trip. They had a ball. This is a must do, worth every penny.

We love the halloween parade dont miss it what ever you do! the headless horseman was the coolest thing, also the free candy and family picture, one for each person in your family. We where luckey last year we went the day after halloween and the place was empty no lines it was like an E night. Also main street was so cool with the music and the special lights on the buildings.Your little kids will love it.

I would love to talk to the person who does the Headless Horseman. It is so impressive but how well do they see to ride the horse? Has the horse ever slipped on the concrete?

I can sit back in my chair and close my eyes and hear the music, then the clip clop of the horse gallopping. It is SO cool. I'm going to see if I can find some pics tonite to post.

Well, I'm flying over to the world this september/october and will be attending MNSSHP.... (very excited I must add  ) I heard toontown won't be open on the night of the event..... Is that true? And what was your favourite "extra" event that you liked about the MNSSHP? (all things including short lines, trick or treat ect.)

Apart from my engagement, I'd have to say I just really liked the overal atmosphere fun, with a sprinkle of spooky. The fog, the lights, the decorations, the costumes - it was all just a really good time.

We are going this year and can't wait! I have a question-we are going to one of the earlier dates in October, do people dress up for those too or is it just for the ones on and right near Halloween?

In 2001, Toontown was not open but last year (2002) it was open. They had the best candy there and my son (6) rode Goofy's Barnstormer about 20 times. He loves it.

Yes people dress for the event all month long.

ONE HINT: Do not dress in scary costumes. I saw a CM asking a person to take off a bloody skull mask. Come on people, this is Mickey's NOT SO SCARRY Halloween Party.
