Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party

I have never been to Disney during the Halloween season. I will be going this year and traveling with 2 children both age 7. Do you think the Halloween party is worth the $60 per child? Anyone ever been?

Thanks!

If they're trick-or-treaters (and if you live in a city that encourages big public trick-or-treating parties in the shopping mall, for safety), it's got its own built-in advantage.
As a rule, most hard-ticket holiday parties are worth going once--More entertainment, more characters, its own parade, and more unusual lighting/decoration than you get during the daytime. Using it just as another evening-EMH just to get on some after-hours rides ends up being kind of a waste, unless they're Haunted Mansion fans. :)

We're going this October with our one year old son ( will be 19 months in October) my parents, sister and her 2 yr old son and we're all really excited. None of us have ever been but we have friends who say it is well spent money- also, assuming you're not doing it every year, I think it's worth the one time splurge! I hope you have fun if you go!

If your children can stay up late and the full time of the party (including the 4pm early entrance) it should come out cheaper than a regular day at MK, with better fireworks and smaller lines for rides.

If your kids can stay up late, don't mind waiting for parades and fireworks, enjoy meeting characters and like trick or treating, it is worth it. Personally, I haven't taken kids to it, but lots of people do.

I would. I went last year and am going again this year. Plus, you get to dress up as Disney characters without the "no costumes that resemble Disney characters" complaints. And if some of the teen/young 20s are a little too inappropriately dressed, they won't let them in. Sure don't want kids seeing the very Adult costumes at Disney. And the parade is great!

We've done both the Christmas party and the Halloween party. I really feel the Halloween party is worth it. Our kids loved that mommy and daddy could dress up with them, the trick or treating was fun, the parade and fireworks are awesome, and there are so many little things on top of that. ex. we watched the Cadaver Dan's sing for a while, we went to dance with Woody, everything at HM is great, and the villains show is cool. I wouldn't worry about your kids staying up either. My girls were 2 and 4 when we did MVMCP...and MNSSHP when they were 4 and 6. We just made sure they had a nice restful day before the party and they had no problem making it through the entire parties.

The first time we went to the Halloween party was 2009. We took the 4 year old grand son. He loved it. We all dressed up as Dalmatians. It has a special parade and light show on castle. Plus fire works. You have to do this at least once. Last year we planned our party date for our first day at Disney World. On that day we did not buy a park admission ticket. For that day we used the party ticket to get into part at 4pm. Why pay double if you do not have to.

It is worth it to us- especially if you have never been. 7 is a great age to especially get a lot of value out of it.

The ToT'ing, parade, and fireworks are our favorite parts of the party. Hallowishes is so fun and catchy!
I also love to just see the park transform, with different lighting and music.

Yes, do it! We've been with kids aged 4-9 and they did well and LOVED being able to dress up and trick-or-treat in the MK (plus all the other perks mentioned in above posts). As an aside, weekday parties tend to be less crowded than weekend...and the closer you get to Halloween, the more people you get as well.

We have been every time we've visited at that time of year - and would never miss it! Extra villains, parades, fireworks anf free candy - why would you not want to pay the extra!
