Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

I went to MNSSHP last year and had a blast. I was 26 and my brother was 16 and neither of us had a problem collecting candy. Treat Stations are set up throughout the park and marked with a giant green treat station mini hot-air type balloon. Each station had different types of candy.
You receive a treat bag when you enter the park along with a map thet indicates what rides are open, the parade route and more importantly where the treat stations are.
The park was fairly empty when we went and I think I bought our passes about a month before we went.
The lighting is eerie throughout the park and they blast the Haunted Mansion music everywhere.
The parade is full of Disney characters in halloween costumes.
Really, such a great time!

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you. Wonderful information. I really can't wait to go in October. Even though I am leaving in 22 days. We actually decided to leave a day earlier and got a room at Rodeway Inn Maingate for the one night so when we get there late we can sleep and check in early and have a whole day with some sleep under our belts.

Since we're talking about Halloween... Jim Hill had an interesting revelation....
The Haunted Mansion Movie, based in part on the Disneyland attraction of the same name, is currently scheduled for release on November 26. Movie premieres typically take place a week or two before the opening of a film.
Having staged one world premiere of a film based on a popular Disneyland attraction directly in front of that attraction, is it too far fetched to think that Walt Disney Pictures may want to do the same for a second.
When the Haunted Mansion Movie is ready to debut, the Disneyland version of "Haunted Mansion" will probably be themed "Haunted Mansion Holiday." Based on Tim Burton's 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Will they insist on stripping out one of Disneyland's most popular autumnal attractions and once again during a peak season for park attendance demand that Disneyland close its gates to holiday visitors?"
Might WDW get DL's "Nightmare" sets and props for this year?

My wife and I went to the Halloween Party and LOVED it!
My wife is allergic to chocolate so I got to eat most of her candy.:lol:
The trick or treating is optional but my wife got in line for candy just like the kiddies...:lol:
They have several places around the park where you can get your picture taken for FREE and they mail you the picture within a couple of weeks.
Don't miss the Headless horseman at the beginning of the parade...he's awesome!

Wow. Im getting really siked. Thanx for all the great info everyone. Now all I have to do is come up with a costume. 
We'll be going on the 10th.. which I think is the second or third party of the year... has anyone gone to mnsshp early in the month? I was hoping to avoid some of the crowds by going earlier.

More questions.....
I too have a ticket to MNSSHP, except much closer to Halloween (Oct 30 - aaaaagh! I know it's going to be crazily busy, but it's my first trip to WDW so I figure it's going to be exciting no matter what - I can't wait!!!!!!!)
Anyhow, my question is, If I am in the MK during the day, do I need to do anything special with my ticket at 7pm when the party really starts?
Also, I have ordered my ticket online and have elected the "will call" option. Is there a chance that they will sell off my ticket if I haven't picked it up by a certain date? As I am from the other side of the world (real "world" :animwink: ) I will not be able to collect my ticket until the day before the party, when I arrive in Florida.

Around park closing, you'll want to go to the turnstiles with your party ticket. There'll be CMs there to run your ticket through from the inside and give you a wristband and a candy bag. You might have to ask for the candy bag if you're a grown-up, but don't be afraid to trick-or-treat. Everyone's a kid at WDW!
And don't be afraid to dress up, either. My parents and I all dressed up last year--I was Alice in Wonderland, my mom was Maleficent, and my dad was Grumpy. Before the parade a CM dressed in a kind of clownish outfit came by miming to the people behind the ropes and he made a big point of being frightened of my mom. When Dopey came along during the parade, he ran up and hugged my dad! And when the villain band float went by, the Queen of Hearts saw me in my Alice outfit and quit playing her keyboard to make menacing and threatening gestures at me until the float had gone out of sight. It was all very cool.
Will Call tickets are almost always picked up on the day of an event, so I'm sure you're safe here.
One more thing....Don't Miss the Fireworks!!! And try to see them from a place where you can see the front of the castle. You never know what might happen on Halloween.

The will call tickets can be picked up at any of the theme parks ticket counters is what I was told anytime after 24 hours after ordering them online. I was assured I can pick them up in July when I am there. They cannot sell them to someone else, you have already paid for them. Those were the things I found out when I called about ordering mine. I ordered them online will call. They said make sure you bring your confirmation letter you printed out when ordering and your photo ID. Without those things, you can't pick them up.

Thanks for your help everyone, and for all the suggestions I am very very very excited - have wanted to visit WDW FOREVER, but have only managed to get to Disneyland once in the past. I can't wait for my trip in October and am now thinking excitedly about a costume to wear for MNSSHP.
