I like the hat, granted everyone is right that it looks best at night, but I think it suits MGM just fine. I can understand everyone being upset about blocking the Chinese Theater, but I think that it was time for something new and I think that the hat was a good choice. Leaving MGM at night and seeing it sparkle is beautiful.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh. You just let out the big secret.

How that came across as a personal attack is beyond me. The stupidity of the statement followed by the silly smiley should have given it away as just merely teasing, which it was. Trust me, you don't want to see me engage in a personal attack. ;)

People are getting attacked for having opinions...yours may not be the same, but you make little comments, and take short digs at people without coming right out and saying anything. If you don't think more than a few people have noticed it, you're crazy.

You are even going as far as to tell people their opinions are wrong. This is just ludicrous...you always have to have the last word. You are free to discuss and debate all you want with others. But please show respect and a bit of decency.

Do I want to see a personal attack out of you? No...but rest assured that I can play just as dirty (if not dirtier than) you.

I hope this ends it, and that you don't come back with another attack - on any level - towards me or any other member. You are new and we do not tolerate your condecending behavior. I suggest you read the terms of usage again.

Thank you.

I like the hat. It fits into the whole theme of MGM. Plus I think it was a good idea to put a little shop underneath the hat. It gets crowded, but not as crowded as a small shop would.

I think the hat is pretty cool. The first time I saw it I was amazed, I really didn't feel that the Chinese Theater was a good symbol for MGM. I like the hat and hope it stays for a while.

I voted yes, I do think the hat looks cool, and it was a great idea.

BUT, I agree with some of the replys. I think it'd be much more generally appreciated if it was ANYWHERE else. I don't take the Chinese Theater as the Studios' icon, that's why we have the Earfful Tower. But I do think that, no matter all the Fantasmics, ToTs and RnRCs, GMR is always going to be the Studios' main attraction, and I pity the day Disney decides to scrap it. They'll have taken one step closer to become just another thrill ride park, instead of a magic theme world. Is ToT cool? Definately. And RnRC? Really awesome. But attractions like GMR and Indy are the reason Disney-MGM Studios was built, to put Guests into the movies.

Don't worry PHENEIX, Fievel means well. He's just trying to keep the peace. Some people here are a little thin skinned and can't distinguish between spirited sarcasm and hatefulness.

On this boards only Fievel is allowed to be condescending.

The SORCEROR"S hat is Kool

Man the Sorceror's hat is the coolest! Why would you want to look at the Chinese Theater it's old? The hat givesa special touch when you walk down the street, it's magical!

I HOPE THEY NEVER TEAR IT DOWN.

O yea and it's called the SORCERER"S hat, not Mickey's hat! duh

I can't believe there hasn't been anyone saying this, so I will.

I can't believe Disney COPIED another building. People post on here about how upset Disney is with copying rides and buildings too much. Well, they copied off of the Chinese Theatre. Don't say, "but it's just the outside". In TOT's case, about the only thing is the name.

This isn't about copying, but the HAT is Disney's own. I haven't seen any other places with a great big hat like that. It's unique and that's what I think Disney is all about.

Well, I don't think it's a copy, it's more of a homage. :animwink: And besides, they probably asked before doing it, so if they were allowed to it's not copying.

Well i like look'n at the Hat just for the 100th celebration only, they can then relocat it towards Fantasmic! and make it a one of a kind Fantasmic ! gift shop. Disneyland also has a Hat located near the Disneyland Hotel entrence from Downtown Disney. There Hat is smaller ,with an artistic expressionism with stars around the base.

Hey Phoenix or Phenix, what have you been here for like two weeks? Settle down and think before you reply on almost EVERY single thread. And attacking another member (especially a senior member who has been around alot longer than you) is not cool, and will not make you many friends around here. Just a little advice, take it or leave it

Everybody has their own opinion, even though at times it may be wrong. :p

Pheneix, your opinion is wrong.

I thought the hat was very impressive when I first saw it, and I have to admit a personal bias since "The Scorcerer's Apprentice" is one of my all time favorites (if not THE favorite). But, the location of the hat just doesn't fit the surroundings. In a mass of concrete and stucco trying to recreate the heyday of 30's/40's Hollywood, there is a giant brightly colored hat. I can understand the location for the 100 Years Celebration, but I can't help but feel it would add more to the continuity of the Hollywood theme if it was eventually moved (if that's even financially/physically possible).

Ok Feivel,

You should be scolding, threatening and reporting TinkerBell9988
JUST like you did Pheneix.

She said nothing less than Pheneix did.

I believe on the "terms of usage" it's called "FLAMING"

Or do you only treat NEW people like that?
