Mickey Mouse waving Goodbye?

I remember when I went on my first ever trip to a Disney Park in May 2008 and it was at Disneyland Paris, the one thing that I remember the most is when Mickey would stand on the train station at night and wave goodbye to people as they were leaving the park.
I then went on to visit WDW in December 2008 and then DLR in October 2010 and I remember it doesn't happen there. I was wondering (because I'm 17 so I don't know all of the Disney history unfortunately) did they ever use to do this in WDW or DLR?
If not, they should because I think it's a really magical touch at night.

it's probably one of those hit or miss things. It would probably depend on if the CM wants to do it. KWIM? Personally, I've never seen it but I haven't stayed til close in a while.

I saw this one time. I can't remember what year it was or what time of year but i saw it. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a special event thing just because we don't do those. But it was a crowded night and a lot of people were leaving.

in all my time at wdw, i have never seen this. Even at EMH. Must be at the wrong place at the wrong time.:brick:

I remember this from our trips in Sep 2008 and Dec 2009. We're going back this March so I'll see if they do it again.

I often see Cast Member waving goodbye from the Train Station while wearing Mickey gloves. But I can't recall seeing Mickey himself.

We shut down the MK twice this week (EMH on Sunday, then stayed until the kiss goodnight on Tuesday night). No sign of Mickey. Nor have I ever seen him do this on any previous trips (but that doesn't mean it can't happen).

But since "park closing" can be a 3 hour process at WDW's MK, Mickey would have to stand and wave for a LONG time. Even with no EMH, guests can hang out on Main Street for at least another hour.

Are you giving an example of when you've seen it happen, or when it COULD happen?

They'd have to rope him off and put armed guards around him, or else nobody would ever leave the park because "Mickey's out!!!!" :lol:

I've seen it once, but I can't recall if it was 2006 or 2007 and I believe it was an EMH night. The only reason we knew it was there was because I had asked at guest relations what time the Kiss Goodnight would be playing that night. The CM told me about Mickey waving goodbye and what time we could catch it.
It was at regular park closing. He came out, waved and said a little spiel. It was cute but I've never saw it again.

When I saw it happen and when it does happen.

He doesn't face the park, he's on the other side, facing Seven Seas Lagoon.

I have seen this too. I remember leaving the Magic Kiingdom one evening and heading to the bus stop to go back to Pop Century. All of a sudden I hear Mickey's voice. Turned around and saw him standing at the train station waving at everyone and saying goodnight. An unexpected surprise.......and very cool too!
