You could get away with all sorts of things back in the day and few complained. People say the Siamese cats in Lady & the Tramp are racist for Pete's sake, never mind what they say about Song of the South....maybe they're meant to be, who knows? Never bothered anyone I personally knew, but maybe they bother others. Pinocchio, puppet or not, or the lost boys, oh well, smoke 'em if you've got 'em, I guess.

Beauty and the Beast had enchanted singing beer and rose champagne fountains.

I wish people would just shut up about the crows. They weren't created to denigrate ANYBODY. They were just "types", not stereotypes. And they are very positive characters in the movie; they help the hero to succeed, out of the goodness of their hearts. I don't see how anybody could be offended by them.

As for the smoking gags, well, look how the characters reacted to their first puffs: both John and Pinocchio look like they're going to throw up. Yeah, THAT'LL make kids wanna smoke! :P

I love these new Mickey mouse shorts! I think there are around 12 or so shorts so far in all, and some are better than others. It is a new fresh creative version of Mickey yet it reminds in many ways of the old shorts that I loved as a child.

Saw this over the weekend. What a GREAT cartoon. A beautiful tribute to the old-school Disney style and a really innovative use of 3-D.
I saw the whole short at D23 in Anaheim. It is a great short and I hope it's not a one-off return to that style. Alas, I betcha that it will be though.
