Do the sticks come from sustainable sources or do Disney recycle. Given the volumes they use surely this would be a major target in their ecological plans

Pumbas why such a sensible question!

Maybe they could be used to make model houses, boats etc!!! That's a very relaxing hobbie for some!

When we were on our Disney Cruise this past May, one of the best things was ordering the Mickey Supremium (as my son calls them) bars from room service. It was awesome!!

As a good global citizen, Disney sorts the used sticks from the other garbage and sends them to clinics in poor countries for use as tongue depressors.

Due to Disney's high quality standards, only 1 popsicle stick can be made from an entire birch tree. The rest of the tree is simply burned in an open pit. The sticks can never again be used for popsicles as the freezing and thawing process reduces the structural integrity of the wood. It is my understanding that they are collected and laminated together into clubs that work quite well in the "collection" of baby seals.

I..I think I feel a tear welling up in my eye. Disney really does care! I'm buying a Mickey ice cream bar the moment i step foot on Property. Viva La Cause!

So its not true that Disney has a factory in India where sultry maidens lick the sticks clean prior to re processing and use as cocktail sticks in the California Grill

It's the internet - you only THINK its a maiden. It reality it is a 300 lb middle aged man based out of his mothers basement.
