Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

The way I interepted the announcement was that you were attending a "movie/screening/short", while you were sucked into the screen.
Isn't it possible to enter the show building (for Mickey) somewhere else and keep the Chinese Theater facade as a separate entity? They could have a "Theater Walk-Through" and call it an attraction! Two for one!

Considering that the new attraction will take up much less space then GMR, yes. But, in my opinion would never happen and would be a waste of money. They'll probably just switch up the queue a little. We don't know much about the attraction yet. Are they allowed to use the name "Chinese Theater"? Because then they could just change the sign to say Grauman's Chinese Theatre presents "Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway", but I couldn't see them branding it as something else. I'm just rambling at this point, but keeping the facade makes sense in my opinion.

Has it been confirmed that the ride will use less space than the GMR? (Sorry if I missed the original post mentioning this)

I don't love the idea of a Mickey ride in Animation Courtyard simply because he's not on par with other characters, he deserves to be in the middle of the park. But I think they should've done something like this.

You enter both rides through or near Grumman's Chinese Theater. Blue is space for the queue, dark blue is space for the ride. It exits into a street dedicated to Mickey and the gang, where you'd find meet and greets, merchandise, etc. Weird thing is that you exit in a different place from which you enter, but not to worry, there'd be a centrally-located stroller parking section shown in orange. Just a rough idea to prove a point.

I can't understand why they're adding attractions and capacity to Magic Kingdom, but are replacing in DHS.

I read some concerns that this wasn't touted as an E-ticket at D23....so is it?

I'm excited. They're pushing boundaries and it should be celebrated.

They may not have explicitly used the phrase "E-ticket," but they tried to paint it as the next original attraction in the likes of Small World, Mansion, And Pirates. That's pathetic, but if there's anything to take away from that, it's the level they're aiming for. Also, people on these boards have said it will be an "E-ticket."

I'd certainly expect the central ride to be nothing short of excellent.

People keep calling this the Disney Channel Mickey. It's not. edit: okay it's iffy.
It's not even iffy.

The episodes literally premiere on the Disney Channel. They show reruns on Disney XD.

For more evidence, the show can be found in the Disney Channel section of their website, not in the Disney XD section.

Yeah, look at how disgusting and repulsing this image is:

Oh, it looks fine? I guess that's what happens when you selectively pick out specific shots just to try to make a point. ;) I know this point has been brought up before but it just gets under my skin.
In some ways the "new" style echos back to the "rougher" Mickey of Gottfredson's early 30's daily strips. The graphic style is tolerable, but the quality of the animation of the shorts is an abomination.

I would say this ride wouldn't work in any other park at WDW.
We're getting a Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Epcot. Whether a ride "works" or not no longer seems to matter....

We should just be thankful Disney Channel Mickey isn't getting shoehorned into Spaceship Earth!

Netherlands, Switzerland, India, Italy, Mexico are all among my favorites
On the other hand, I just thought of a way to get a Mickey ride in World Showcase.

I would say it is more than that, as you are immersed into the world of a Mickey cartoon. Presumably you, as a guest, will be attending a screening at the Chinese Theatre. I would say this ride wouldn't work in any other park at WDW.

You're the one that started complaining about Mickey not working at the Chinese Theater

I am among those that aren't crazy about this style of Mickey being used for the attraction (or in this locale for that matter). The shorts though are for the most part enjoyable. As long as they can stray from using the exaggerated gross out expressions I'm hopeful this will be an enjoyable ride. Trying to keep an open mind about the whole thing. I would hope they are smart enough to keep it toned down a little in the attraction so as not to turn off a ton of people.
Of course the shorts aren't the only place they are using this style of Mickey. Some of the Disney products like their coffee are using a similar look as well.

One thing I'm concerned about is the test they showed was utilizing screens... Am I the only one getting tired of them? I feel like they have their use, especially in plussing old rides easily like Alice at DL, but making whole rides based around them ala Paris's Ratatouille with no Audio Animatronics or actually present scenes is getting a bit... sad to me. Like it works with Midway Mania because there's no real way to interact with anything but screens, but for anything non-interactive, it just feels lazy. Like I've tried to avoid spoiling myself on the River Adventure ride at Pandora in AK, but it sounds like outside of the Shamaness AA, most of the ride is you floating through screens, which is just... depressing.

Basically I hope that there's as many AAs as there were on GMR, otherwise I'll definitely feel cheated. I won't be surprised if it turns out there aren't any, given TDO's preferred modus operandi of sparing every expense.

Projections not screens, there's a difference.
