It's bull crap.

Wow, that is awful. No charm. Looks like Flash animation. And easily the ugliest Mickey in 90 years by far...

Plus it's more Pablo Picasso than Walt Disney, with Mickey's mouth moving on the side of his face instead of the front. Ugh.

I mean, I get that animators at other studios wanted to move away from the "Disney" style by stylizing towards strange and "ugly" drawings (like, say, Ren & Stimpy, back in the day...), but why on earth would DISNEY think it was a good idea?? o_O

So one thing I'm noticing is that when the flipping happens, the screen kind of bounces in reaction to it. It reminds me of the frog things on the big leafs on Navi River Journey, where the projection of their hopping is timed with the leaf movement, it's a great effect.
I can't tell if the screen is flexible or if the projection itself is of a moving (intentionally wobbly) image. I think it is the latter but not sure.

Before this was announced I really hadn't paid attention to these shorts, but now that I started watching them I can't stop! Honestly I was shocked to see how many views they have on YouTube.

They are very successful, and rightly so. I just wish that design wasn't the design chosen for the ride. I'd prefer a more classic 1930's Mickey instead.

New short released yesterday... entirely in Korean and still completely entertaining. #7 on Youtube Trending right now, too.

These shorts are some of the best and most innovative content done with Mickey mouse in the past 10 years. Sorry for everyone hating these new cartoons but Mickey was always evolving and this is more back to his roots than anything I have seen.

If you can watch this and not manage at least 1 smile idk what to tell ya other than maybe Mickey cartoons were never your thing.

And will be quickly undone when the feedback hits. Disney parks are geared towards the entire family, while the Disney Channel is geared towards children....I suspect that there will be a negative backlash against this animation style that it won't last very long.

Your claims are ridiculous for a lot of reasons one in thinking that the average guest will care. As long as they recognize it's Mickey mouse which it's clear it is I don't see people caring what he looks like in the ride. The backlash with figment was that figment was removed from his own ride. Not that they changed his desgin. Given that kids and adults can get on this ride and recognize Mickey and co I don't think they will care what his art style is in.
