Miami help?

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum - its my first post here

Hi all, hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
There is an event on at the Miami Speedway know OH would love to experience. About 4.5 hours drive to Miami, so would seem the natural thing to grab a hotel and stay overnight.
Anyone done this and can recommend?
Have to say am a bit 'nervy' as I understand there are some complete no go areas in Miami - any guidance on where to stay AWAY from would also be greatfully received.

Call the Speedway and ask them for a recommendation or check their website. For a one night stay before our DCL cruise, we used the Comfort Suites near the airport. Nice rooms, nice staff, nice price.
