Miami Beach to WDW transportation ?

Hi - I am having no luck finding info about this - but a friend of mine swears there is some kind of shuttle or something available from Miami Beach to WDW. I will be going to Miami Beach before our Disney trip and was planning to just rent a car to make the drive from there to WDW and turn in the car upon arrival. I need to get from Miami Beach to WDW property (Caribbean Beach first). Anyone know anything that can help me here? Do any of the Orlando area transportation companies (towncar, limo, etc places) offer a pick up like this for anything resembling reasonable? Any info that anyone has will be much appreciated. Thanks

According to Google Maps, Miami Beach is 238 miles from Orlando, approx. 3 hours and 48 minutes. You might find a limo company that would do it, but the cost would be extreme, as it would be about a 8 hour round-trip for the driver.

Renting the car would be much, much cheaper.

Thanks for the reply - I had mapped the trip already and figured that a limo company would be expensive and that the rental car would be cheaper. I was looking for other possibilities that would be easier for me than renting the car and driving.

thanks again

You might look into bus or train service....Amtrak has service between Miami and Kissimmee. At least you wouldn't have to drive all that way...

Thanks so much for all of the replies! I am looking into those options. I'm thinking I might just as well drive compared to the bus or train option by the time I have to get transportation to the station in Miami and then have to also get transportation from the station to the hotel. With two little ones and car seats it sounds like the fewer transfers the better. Apparently my friend somehow thought there was some kind of a shuttle service aimed at getting people directly to Disney from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. I figured if anyone would know about it if it actually existed, it would be the amazing people on this board!

thanks again
