MIA: The Pirates Donkey

He's been gone for at least 6 months now I think. The donkey sticking out of the door at the start of the "Yo Ho" burning village scene. You can still hear his hee haws. Is he ever coming back? Anyone know???

Also a pair of turntable chasers from earlier in the ride have been missing for about as long. Figured they'd be back after a quick refurb or something, but half a year later there seems to be no sign of them returning. Weird, eh?

They usually come back. I remember the hat pirate was gone for months once, but he eventually came back. I'm assuming these figures are getting some work done.

Totally... But half a year already for what's basically a donkey head and two completely static pirate dummies? Seems strange to go that long with missing show elements.

The self-playing piano disappeared at the same time as those things and was back in action a month or so after it went away. Surprised the rest has yet to resurface...

It has been a while. I don't know what they could be doing with it.

The irony being that the hat guy was the maquette Walt Disney himself held in that Wonderful World of Disney Tencennial special and said the show would go to pieces if he wasn't there performing his function.

The donkey and the last chase turntable have been missing for a LONG time. Even fireflies have come back since they've been gone...

The player piano was gone longer than a month. It was gone for about a year. I wondered if it was ever coming back. The burro has been gone for quite a while and I miss him. That is one of my favorite scenes in the ride.

It's pretty common for AA's to be pulled for extended maintenance at DL only to resurface down the road. With an attraction like Pirates, it's rare that I've seen all of them in place - even during the summer season.

WDW will sometime just put the AA into non-operational mode or pull the broken component of the AA (like they did with the hat stack).

Yeah, too bad the last chase turntable is still missing. It's the only one I don't dislike because it's somewhat functioning as intended.

I feel like the hat guy is missing hats. The rod isn't supposed to be sticking out of his top hat right, it's supposed to be holding the stack?
