Dear John,
Thank you for contacting WALT DISNEY WORLD!

At this time, Disney's MGM Studios is developing "Residential Street" as a new stunt show attraction. As a result, the Osborne Spectacle of Lights will not be presented this year. We are considering several other holiday enhancements for Disney's MGM Studios and will share details as the become available.

While we realize that is is impossible to please everyone at all times with the decisions that are made, it is always our goal to provide a quality "show" for out Guests. Please know that we are exploring other options for presenting this experience in the future.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Evelyn Johnson

They've been announcing over Closed Circuit TV @ MGM that a new stunt show will be debuting in that area in 2005... that's good enough for me

Not just any kind of stunt show, the motors in action stunt show. It will be the same as the one in Paris. It is a very cool show!

This stunt show is rumored to be a Auto one, why do most men go to races, to see cars crash. Car stunt show at Paris is popular. it should be here. makes sence to bring it.

I work at Disneyland Resort in Paris and our managers told us today that they started breaking ground today for the Moteurs Action Stunt Show Spectacular at D-MGM. As of today, it is said to be an exact replica of the Paris' show, except that the seating area will be composed of 7000 seats instead of 3000 in Paris.

the one in Paris is very very good

it will be a great addition to MGM - i wonder if they will tie it into a movie or something

does disney have any car chase films or that? Gone in 60 secs is Touchstone so they could tie it into that

the Paris one doesnt have a specific movie connection but most of the stuff at mgm in florida is connected to a movie

i hope they dont close indy though

They have gone in 60 secs, as well as the Bond series courtesy of MGM... they have plenty to work with based on those 2 Franchises alone

but the MGM connection will be lost soon

but if they cud get the bond franchise it would be kool

although i have a strange feeling that at the start of the last bond i saw the 20th Century fox thingy
or the Universal thing - it was one of the big companies anyway - have they maybe bought the writes or something?

Well, I know that Disney does not have the rights to make a Bond ride, otherwise there would already be one. However, the 2005 Disney/Pixar film is entitled Cars...and this attraction opens in 2005. I'm not suggesting a cartoon look to the attraction, but that is the most obvious tie-in. I don't know the plot of Cars yet, but maybe after that surfaces, we could theorize more about this new show.

In the video editing at the begining of the show they play (on the giant screen) extracts from the Rock, Con Air, Ronin, Enemy of the State, Speed (not Disney), and Gone in 60 seconds. I don't think it will be tied to any movie up there, it's just an insight into the making of motor action sequences in the movies. No need to be a tie in.

We took the backlot tour a few times over the week and on Sunday the 21st was the first time they said during the tour they were putting an auto stunt show in that area. They said the show is projected as a 2004 opening. I thought that was fast. We shall see.

I must say, I don't like the Pearl Harbor preshow like I liked the old one. Just a personal preference.
