I loved the new 100 years of magic sorcerers hat in MGM. I think they should keep it somehow. Maybe not there exactly but still its too cool to get rid of completely. :(

Move it somewhere but don't block the theater. The Imagineers wored so hard to get that 1940's theme down Hollywood Blvd that it shouldn't be killed.

Alright, I agree, the atmosphere there is too good to keep the hat there forever. But it still needs to be moved somewhere else where it is still accesible:cool:

I think it looks cool, but it looks a little tacky and blocks the view of the chinese theater and sort of ruins the effect of it being hollywood. When the celebration is over, I say move it to a different section of the park.

You're right, they aren't going to take it down for a long time. I wonder what they'll do in the space where the 100 years of magic sign is after the celebration's over.

The hat is there for 10+ years. They will probably make the sign either say Disney-MGM Studios or The Walt Disney Studios Florida.

Thats tacky, but its probably what they're going to do. Just like Epcot, its lame because we know what park we're in, but at least this sign isn't 200 feet in the air!

The epcot sign is tacky, like you said you know what park you are in. And all that is is and addition to something that was beautiful without any addition. The hat is something new

you KNOW who the signs are for, don't you? Granted I like them, they are for the morons who think the Magic Kingdom is "Disney World" and "those other parks" are something else. By attaching the signs to something related to Mickey, maybe they will realize that disney world has FOUR parks!

When "EPCOT" first opened up ,it was not to be part of "Walt Disney World" but on Disney Property.Their were no Disney characters or merchandise until public demand, only then did "EPCOT" became part of the World.

As for the Hat ,I would like to see it as an entrence-way into an attraction ,like"Disney Animation" or a magic shop , it would be cool to see it as a "Fantasmic" gift shop also.

Really? I had no idea! Was the Magic Kingdom always called the Magic Kingdom? Or did they change the name after Epcot became part of the world and so now MK couldn't be called WDW anymore?

Actually it is The Magic Kingdom part of the Walt Disney World Resort, it's really called Walt Disney's World ( but the 's is left off) . Walts brother Roy renamed the park in tribute to his brothers dream on his death bed in 1966. Roy took on the project after Walts death and before he took his retirment in 1971.

Roy died Dec 21 1971 ,two months after the WDW resort opened.

As for EPCOT ,it changed alot before it was built , first it was a planned city(you can see the model when you ride TTA in Tomorrowland at MK).It later became a worlds fair design which is what we see today. Now "Celebration" located in Kissimiee is a new adaptation of what EPCOT was planned to be without the "Buck Rogers /Tomorrowland "look .

OK you couldn't be more right but that has nothing to do with what DogsRule said.

You don't seriously think these people who go to WDW and call the Magic Kingdom Walt disney world actually know all this...do you? DogsRule is talking about the same people who call Spaceship Earth the big golf ball and the ones who think Universal and Sea World are part of WDW. I'm pretty sure when those people call the Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World that it's not because they are trying to make Walt's original dream live...they simply don't know any better. ;)

I really like the idea of turning it into a fantasmic gift shop of some sort. So if every body likes the hat, what about the banners that are up in the park the ones that light up at night.
They are pretty cool as well, should they stay or go?

As for the 100th Banners ,they should be put up for auction along with a trigger device to make them work for your own private use.I would love to have these decorating my lamposts around the pool ,nice for night time partys.

I hope they keep the hat, along with whatever is in there. I wanted to go for the party, but my girlfriend works all the way untill December 28, we can only go in January.
