MGM Journey Into Narnia Still Open?

My son really likes Narnia and when we were there last year they hadn't opened the Journey Into Narnia Back Stage tour. I was wondering if it is still open and if so when is it slated to close. We are going at the end of November and he would really like to see it.

Thanks.

I'm not sure when it's planned to close, but it was open a week and a half ago and drawing crowds when we were down! Try to go before noon, later in the day there was quite a wait and, frankly, it's not really worth a long wait. But neat nonetheless!

Make sure you check the Times Guide for MGM, when we were there it opened later than the rest of the park.

If your son REALLY likes Narnia, and would be crushed if you missed it, then try to fit it in... otherwise, it's a complete waste of time. It's not so much a "tour" as a really long commercial for the film. You wait in a big room, walk through an oversized wardrobe, and into the snowy Christmas-tree lot of Narnia. Jadis shows up, says 3 lines from the film, and the rest of the time you get to watch an extended trailer on a big screen TV. My DH and I thought we'd just seen an interesting pre-show, and were expecting to be lead into another part of the tour... but that was it.

It's shocking to even see that it was listed on the map as an attraction. If it does close before you've had a chance to see it, you won't be missing much.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like if it's open and we fit it in alright but if we miss it it's ok. I think we'll just wait and see.

That show was the worst. A huge disapointment. The same thing happened to us, we expected to walk into another part of the show and the next thing you knew, you walk out a door and you're outside. Now that the movie is older I'd be surprised if they even still have the white witch up there, it's probably replaced with another movie screen.

She's still up there! Looks pretty good, too, I must admit.

I agree that it's quite the disapointment. I really enjoy the Narnia movie, so I expected to see lots of props. There are only maybe..5? And I heard that Jadis did a meet-and-greet...not true. I tried to get my camera for a picture of her and she already said her 3 lines and left. But she was very realistic looking I do have to say. I wouldn't recommend waiting over 10 minutes for the attraction though.

I thought it was a waste, but funny enough, it was one of my wife's favorite things that we did in MGM aside from her scaring me to death with Tower of Terror.

We went in December and you entered the preshow and than doors opened which lead you to the prop area, you could see the various costumes and props used. Than on the backlot tour, you could see the White Witches dress that she wore in the battle, it was in the Villians display. (We have several pics under the '05 pics MGM)

Yeah the Journey Into Narnia was the biggest waste of 30 minutes of my life. The line was extremely long, and we get in and its just a staged scene and you watch a trailor for the movie. It could have been alot cooler :(

I would honestly assume that it will be there for a while. It is a horrrible show, but it seems to be extremely popular right now. My guess is that it will be there until Narnia 2 hits the theaters. I am not sure on the date, but I know it has to be on it's way. The only other thing that would move it would be progress on Midway Mania.
