Mexico Update

I have to second that. Most of that building is not used by the museum. I don;t know what is in the rest of it (most likely storage) but there is room. I have an original handout for Epcot when they were building it and you rode over on teh monorail for a preview at the station. I need to find it since it listed several different rides and countries in the world showcase that never appeared. There were no actual pictures but alot of artwork.

I highly doubt that The Three Caballeros idea will stay. I don´t think our Secretary of Tourism would agree on that. Seems to me that they want to make the image of this country to the world, more modern. People think we are still riding dunkeys on unpaved streets -which still happens in some villages- but the cities are another story. I´ve seen the surprised faces of friends who had never been here and they are amazed to see we live just like them in many aspects, and sometimes even better in some others. I am sure that´s exactly what they would like to show the world too. :animwink:

I wouldn´t like to have the setting change -the restaurant, the market, the volcano- but the museum could include more things from all Mexico, not only central Mexico and a specific culture. Heck, the Yucatan Peninsula is the main tourist destination in Mexico and it´s not even mentioned there!

I would also update the ride. The screen images are way too old and that stupid carrousel at the end gets on my nerves! The little dolls with the typical costumes of the country are cute and I would keep them, but I would change the sound and recording to a better storyline, song, and audio!

Hopefully, someone will take my opinion seriously! LOL

Yeah... like you know anything about Mexico! :animwink:

I assure you all, there IS a ride bilding there.....the musume and store make up about 15% of the total building....I have been inside it.....it is an empty shell of a building from the inside....used for storage and for maintance....from the back you can see doors on the second floor that go nowhere, the were the emegancy exits for what ever ride would go in there.....and no all Pavillions are not the same size, BUT all do have room for a building on the back.....BTW germany has a much smaller building in the back, but that sits empty al well.....maybe to small for a ride, but not for a Body Wars type ride??? anyone know more on that??

Thanks! :sohappy: While I don't work there, I've been in that pavilion enough and know that that building is not the restaurant or the shop and it is way bigger than the museum. Nice to get the proof from someone who works there.

Shoot... I forget what the original purpose for this space was. I remember a ride or attraction of some sort was going to be put in but can't seem to remember. Anyone have the answer?

I understand that, but the restaurants are on the left side, not the back. The store is under the restaurants. The museum takes up very little of the space in the back. The store and restuarant would not need that vast amount of space for storage.

I was thinking of storage room for the store and also for some kind of storage or kitchen area. I remember there is also another little "fast food" on the left facing the pavillion, no? I honestly can´t remember what was there when I worked there so *shrugs*.

Also, I mentioned that the pavillions areas are the same size because I was taught during my training that they are. I can´t remember the specifics, but their spaces are the same size... how they distribute their buildings is why some look bigger than others. :animwink:

Yes there is a small tempura restaurant across from the shop and teppanaki (sp?) restaurant. It's on the left as you walk into the pavillion.

I think you may both be right about the size of the pavillions. It sounds like Maria is talking about the space allocated to each pavilion while FLcastmember is talking about the building sizes. As we can see on the satellite photo, the buildings are obviously different sizes and shapes, but is the amount of land for each pavilion the same? I would guess it is (at least very close). Anyone know for sure?

There is plenty of room for an attraction, the building for the attraciton was built.

The attraction designed an built for Japan was called "Meet the World".

It eventually was built and located in Tomorrowland of Tokyo Disneyland, instead of Epcot.

It was like a combination of Carousel of Progress and The American Adventure.

The build is that large,. The museum is only usuaing the part which would have been the first part fo the queue.

Last year they used some of the extra queue are for the show, as the Pupett exhibit. The exit from the ride, is what is now the back wall of the big shop.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
If everything is bigger in America and everything is minaturised by the Japanese, dosent this mean well have a tiny computerised ride housed in a massive outsized building.

The art of drinking saki and how to draw bloody awfull cartoons, would be my bet.

The ride that was going to be in Japan was called Rashomon. But nobody could agree on what it was supposed to be about.
