Mexico Restaurants

I really like the atmosphere and experience at San Angel Inn, but the food and drinks are much better at La Hacienda/Epcot and Frontera Cocina/Disney Springs.

I prefer San Angel Inn. The food has always been good, and sometimes better. I live in Texas, and love Tex-Mex. That being said, there are differences in the various regions of Texas. Ordering a puffy taco will get you two completely different things in DFW and San Antonio. "Mexican" food in New Mexico, and So-Cal have their own differences. I don't think of any of them as being better, or worse. They are different. I haven't found the food at San Angel Inn to be too spicy, but how much is too much can be very subjective;)

Frontera Cocina was mentioned... We tried it twice a couple weeks ago. The first visit did not blow me away. We gave it a second chance, and it's now a must visit each trip restaurant for us. The second visit was everything I'd expect of a Rick Bayless restaurant. I also just glanced, and they do accept all dining plans with the exception of quick service. If a trip to Disney Springs is in your future, and it's meal time it's worth trying.

My husband loves San Angel Inn. To the point that we go every trip to Epcot. I'm not a fan of Mexican food, but I usually have the steak and I do like it! I vote for San Angel!

Dining at either is really nice. Service we found to be excellent. View onto the lagoon is excellent (if you are seated by the windows) Reflections of Earth we viewed from La Hacienda last December with no problem (they also pipe in the audio). Lights are lowered during the fireworks and you can move around for a better view if you are seated away from the windows. Dining at the Inn expect some difficulty viewing the menu if you have a vision problem. The lighting is very low. My family experienced no problems but some of our neighbors did. It is all a matter of choices and expectations. We shall dine at both locations this coming December.

I tried La Hacienda so I could see Reflections. Didn't work out very well. I found myself against the opposite wall and nowhere I could adequately see the show. I was craning my neck up and down, left and right to try to see through the windows. I liked the food but I wouldn't eat there again for that experience.

Being from Texas and used to tex mex I actually prefer the quick service over both sit down places but I would actually choose the San Angel Inn because it's just more Disney, more unique of an experience, La Hacienda is too much like the typical Mexican restaurant we eat at all the time at home.

San Angel is meh at best, just like Chuy's. LA Hacienda is much better.
