Trip Report Merry Christmas You Filthy Animals! A Live Christmas Trip With The Inlaws.

You all knew this was coming, just a down and dirty live TR with the inlaws this Christmas week. So, strap in and get ready because here we go...

Naturally I told the folks we would be leaving at 05:00 this morning so be ready. You can see one guy didn't want us leaving. We were up at 04:25 and all packed and ready....except the MIL. She seemed to want to play the "let's see how many things we can touch in the house before leaving" game. My crew was ready to roll by 04:50 but we had to wait until about ten after five before her game was over... a quick stop at dunkin donuts and we were well on our way. We hit the half way spot, Tifton, about 09:00 to gas up and hit the restrooms. Over the hump and determined we pulled into the Panara Bread on 192 about 12:30 for lunch. While we ate I got the text our room was ready!!

The two bedroom room we had is just a few doors down from the lobby and has a beautiful view of the Sunset Savanna. The inlaws were blown away. I legitimately think they thought the room would be equivalent to a holiday inn express...

We realized two of the 5 bands would not open the door to our room so I made a quick visit, literally, to the front desk and things were quickly resolved!

The weather is fantastic here today and we don't have to be anywhere so the DW and I are headed for the pool while the inlaws hit up Disney Springs and the kid, well, does kid stuff in the room.... we couldn't pass up the DVC photo booth first though. @prfctlyximprct any guesses what I'm enjoying at Kidani's pool?

My parents have surprised me. They wanted to head to Disney Springs and are going to make the trek on their own.

I think they're awestruck and like Sean said, I believe they were expecting less in the room. They were putting away their clothes...in the drawers and closet. They may even upgrade to a park hopper.

With MK hosting a Christmas party tonight I thought EC would have been packed. Don'

t get me wrong, it was busy but not Christmas Week busy yet. We made our way to Nemo first and walked right on before checking out some of the marine life.

After we finished out the marine life we made for Sunshine Seasons for some dinner. The DD went with a grilled ckecken and seasame pasta dish while Laura and I shared a bowl of chili and a hummus platter. It was all good. The inlaws each went with a teriyaki dish, one chicken and one beef(not pictured).

With bellies full we made fro LWTL before hitting WS. We didn't make it England before the inlaws called it quits for the night and made for the bus back. Our crew powered on! W made stops at Japan, America, and Mexico. My primary objective at the America Pavillion was to score some Shipyard burbon barrel eggnog ale @WDW74 told me about. Sadly they were sold out and I was told there was no getting more that it as a limited run and Disney and one other company bough the whole stock! I was put out a bit by it but oh well, still have plenty of options in the bubble. We ended our night with a little Mars shuttle training. Now back at the room and enjoying a little Apothic Dark.

Side note: I like chili. I do not like Sunshine Seasons chili. There was beef in the chili, but not ground beef. It reminded me of dog food, not the taste, just appearance. Proceed with caution.

Ha! Thanks for the heads up. (I'll bet my dog would love it, though! ) Funny thing is I made chili last night--the recipe calls for ground turkey, instead of beef. Chili came out quite good actually (this one also has beans in it as well, which I prefer over plain beef recipes).

Up at 05:00 this morning for a MK rope drop Maiin drawback to being up this early is the savanna is dark! Anyway, we lucked out and got a MK bus with less than 2 minutes of waiting and 14 minutes later we were there for rope drop! We followed the organized chaos to SDMT and nabbed a back seat.
