Hi,

I am coming over from England for 3 weeks of fun this coming Thursday and I really cant wait! I was looking at purchasing the memory maker and wondered what people's thoughts are about this and whether it would be worth it? Does anybody know which restaurants and dining experiences take photos that are on the memory maker as well? I am coming with my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary and for the first time with my wife and 2 daughters who are 4 and 1! It should be amazing! Thanks in advance

We bought it in June. Worth is difficult to define. We found value in it because of all the ride photos. The ToT and 7DMT vids were a nice addition. We found ourselves stopping and having more photo pass pics taken.

You won't regret purchasing it. We got over 430 photos across 8 park days and most of them turned out really well. It was money well spent and we plan to always purchase it in the future.

Just got back from my trip. This is the first time I have purchased the memory maker. We liked the ride photos (we tended to only buy one or two, now we had them all) and the couple of videos. It was good for getting our entire party and one morning when I left everyone early to visit a park, I got a couple of pics of me (I'm usually the one taking photos so nice to actually appear in the vacation pics for once). The photographers take multiple shots and use different poses or different zooms. This is all nice. They are especially good when meeting characters (got some excellent pics of my daughter and Stitch). On the other hand, the photo quality is average as far as lighting and background.

We got over 300 pics, but many were duplicates. They give 3-4 generic shots and every time we rode a ride, we got those same 3-4 pics. Also, if more than one member of your party uses the magic band for the photo, you will get multiple copies as well.

Last, are you using a magic band? I hope so. The pics and video from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are only available if you do. There's no picture area at the end of the ride. The ride itself sees your band and knows to give you photos. One of my family members went separatly and they were offsite (so no band) and they could not get any pics from that ride.

One advice I will give, is if you buy it, since you get all the photos, when you go to Magic Kingdom pick out photographers at different distances from the castle. How it appears in the background will be very different.

For a once in a lifetime trip like this I think you will definitely find value in it :) We don't buy it every time because we don't always want/need all of our pictures but we have purchased it already for our honeymoon because it is a once in a lifetime event for us and even if the pictures aren't professional quality all the time it's good to go back through them years down the road :)

It sounds like your trip should be fun!!

Out here using it at the moment. My children will smile much more for the Disney photographer than they will for me! Definitely worth it when you have children & are in Disney for three weeks, you should get loads of great photos. If you have access to a computer whilst away, try and edit your photos as you go along - otherwise it's a massive job at end of holiday.

You didn't get nearly the amount of photo's you could have over that period of time! :p

Does anyone know which restaurants/dining experiences the photographers are at?
Also, do you have to request a video of the mine train, or do they just upload it for you regardless, and which other rides can you expect to have photos taken on?
Sorry for all the questions, we too are heading over from england in two weeks, so excited!!

As far as I know no restaurants have walk around photographers, but Cinderellas and Chef Mickey have photos on the way in.

Seven Dwarves mine photo and video are all autmated through the magic band, there are no screens at the exit.

If you get the My Experience App, it will tell you all locations where you can find photos. One of the items on the top (need to scroll right) is PhotoPass. Then it lists the locations. I didn't look through the list for restaurants but I did notice Be Our Guest listed. I'm guessing anywhere there are characters, there will be photo opportunities.

The Seven Dwarfs Mine photos and video are automatic as long as you have a band. Without a band, not sure you can do anything to get the photos and video.

It is ABSOLUTELY worth it. Some of the photogs are hit-or-miss but no matter what you will get amazing shots. Be sure to ask for "Magic Shots"!

We think it is worth it besides the ride photos and videos. The magic shots are cute, but if you take the time to get photos from the Photopass photographers, you'll end up with more photos than you can use. Some of the photos were slightly blurred, but since they take multiples, you will always end up with some quality shots.

I'm very disappointed to find out that there is no option for annual pass holders to use the photo pass. I go to Disney World 30-40 times a year and they do not offer any options for Annual Passholders.

Very Disappointed

I definitely thought the Memory Maker was worth it! We got a ton of great shots and then I got a bunch of them printed at mpix.com for really cheap. It certainly saved us money on ride photos and buying individual shots through Photo Pass!
