Memorial Day crowds

how are crowds normally around Memorial Day week. looking at 5-27 through 6 - 2 next summer for free dining. havent been that week in a few years, been going during Christmas so wondering how it would compare to week before Christmas. how does (cant remember web site name) list crowd levels for that week
any info/ opinions appreciated.

The parks are definitely busy, but not on the scale of what you would find later in the month, or around July 4. We were there at about that same time earlier in the year, and you definitely noticed the rise in crowd levels as Memorial Day neared. But I would also say that almost as soon as it was over the crowds died right back down.

If you are used to going the week before Christmas, then you will think the moderate crowds of Memorial Day week are a dream. We were there during that time last year (Saturday-Friday). Memorial Day was actually the least crowded day for us (we were at the MK that day). The crazy summer crowds don't hit until the second week of June. We were back at the MK for a day on June 8th, and the crowds by that point were too much for me to handle. HUGE difference from the first week of June.

But....it is HOT!!!

Crowds are managable that week. I have been twice at that time, and Tuesday - Friday seems like it was quite nice. Usually the first weekend in June is Star Wars weekend, and DHS is crowded that Saturday. The MK has an unoffical event on that Saturday too, which brings a small increase in crowds there that day too. Overall, it seems more crowded the weekend after Memorial Day than it does Memorial Day weekend. It seems to me that Epcot is the most crowded park over Memorial Day weekend, as it seems to be the park of choice for locals, and school groups.

But once again, very managable for most visitors who know the basics (Fastpass, when to arrive, where to go first, etc.)

Is it reasonable to compare the crowds during Memorial day week to those of Columbus day week (october)?

I am going June 2-8. I am doing Universal first two days and then Disney the next four days. Staying at ASMovies with my wife and 6 year old. Any tips as to what parks which days? Not worried about the weather but really hoping crowds don't get unbearable. I have been at Thanksgiving so how does it compare?

We last went over the 2008 Memorial Day weekend, and the weekend was more crowded than the days following. It seemed that Memorial Day had the biggest crowds, but Tuesday-Friday were not to bad. We did Columbus day weekend in 2009 and was more crowded, and much hotter! Our schools let out the Wednesday before Memorial Day, so we left on Thursday after work, stopped about half way down, and were at the parks for a late lunch on Friday.
