Meeting Villains

Hey yall,

My 3-year-old daughter loves the Disney Villains. When we were at MK last December, every time she met a princess, she would ask about the Villain. "Where's Mother Gothel?" "Where's Lady Tremaine?" "Where's Maleficent?" The princesses would say things like, "Oh, we don't have to worry about her anymore." My daughter wasn't buying it.

So now, whenever we talk about going back to Disney World, she says "I want to meet Maleficent/Lady Tremaine/Cruella etc. And then she can come to my house." So in planning our next trip, I want to know: Where are the darn villains? Is MNSSHP the only time to meet them? I know Lady T and the girls hang out but I have never see Maleficent or Cruella or any of the others. Do they ever hang out during the rest of the year? Or is Halloween our best bet?

I think Halloween is your best bet to catch the villains although they do show up from time to time. The Halloween Show has a Villains mix and mingle that is pretty awesome.

On our last trip in September of 2012 we just happened upon the Stepmother and stepsisters behind one of the new Fantasyland wall/turrets.

As of last year they don't mix n mingle after show.

It's an additional charge. On top of the hard ticket price.

As @jlthomas81 said, Lady T and the sisters are frequently at the fantasyland wall. Some of the others are a little harder....the halloween party has more of them than other times of year. The most we've met was Lady T/sisters, Maleficent, Cruella, Evil Queen, Facilier, Hook, and Jafar but it was at the villains sinister soiree during MNSSHP (hard ticket on top of hard ticket)....was fantastic getting to interact with all of them. that being said, not sure if they are doing this year or not or if that's something that appeals to you.

Gaston, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella can all be regularly met in Magic Kingdom. Other villains are kind of hit or miss but the Evil Queen and some other villains appear semi-often in the Pop Up character sets at DHS unofficially known as Characterpalooza. Of course all of that is very unofficial.

Once in a blue moon, unofficially, the Evil Queen will come into the animation building in HS and set up in the hallway outside the drawing class exit. It's completely random. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and got a picture with her.

The last two years WDW held a special after-hours "Villains Unleashed" party in Hollywood Studios in mid August. The first was in 2013 and was on Friday the 13th and it was free to see the 13 villains they brought in for the event. Last year on Aug. 23, 2014, they made the event larger to include 50 villains and charged $67 admission. The night included a really incredible fireworks show called "Villainy in the Sky" with meet and greets and stage shows. Nothing has been confirmed yet about if they will do a Villains party for 2015, but if they do it is really a fun event to attend!

There were also some villains out at last May's 24-hour party. Outside of special events, though, the best bets for villains are as noted above Gaston, the Tremaines, and the Evil Queen.

Now that you mention Br'er Fox, he also shows up from time to time at the dance parties at Animal Kingdom when they have those.

Our best Villain experience was the Tower of Terror 10-miler after party. Sadly, they aren't doing that race this year, but if it ever comes back...the Disney Villains Hollywood Bash party after the race is great (assuming you have a family member who is racing so you can get tickets).

We met Gaston, Shan Yu, Maleficent, Cruella, and Lotso at the party. On the race course itself, there was also the Evil Queen (as old woman), Dr. Facilier, Hades (and friends), Lotso, Big Bad Wolf, Queen of Hearts, Scar (he's just hanging over his cave) and hyaenas, and others that we can't remember right now.

It is rumored to be coming back in 2016, but the possibility of construction makes that less likely. So, more than enough time to train!

Character-palooza can be a good chance, but not guaranteed. Use the above Kenny the Pirate link to see when it might be happening. When we did it, our only villains were Hook and Smee.

BTW, we have gone to dinner at 1900 Park Fare every year for the last 6. Our daughter (although she doesn't wear her Drizella or Anastasia costumes any more) still loves it for the Stepsisters.

I always thought the villains should appear more at night, maybe not the same villains in the same places every night. Just random locations throughout the night. They could even take over Princess Fairy Tale Hall maybe 3 hours before park closes and it could be called "Scary Tale Hall" and the more popular villains could show up there. Even at the minimum pair a villain with the princess, like meet Snow White and the the Wicked Queen, etc etc and again keep it random, because you don't know when a villain might strike, or something like that. Just a though.....

Sorry if this seems random I kept getting ideas as I was typing.

Regarding original poster, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween is probably your best bet - especially the villians dance party where your daughter can dance with the Tremaines and a few other villians. I think it was called "Club Villian?"

They need more villans period. Especially Darth Vader. They are so far and few between.

^^^ TOTALLY AGREE! (Love the Scary Tale Hall idea!)

Yes! More villains at night all year and face character ones who are strong in improv because they are the most FUN! :devilish::happy:

If you ask a WDW fan to list their funniest/most entertaining face characters they most likely would be villians.

My list for funniest/most entertaining for all face characters (in no particular order):

- Cruella (No, The Devil doesn't wear Prada, she wears Dalmation. She is one FIERCE diva - I love it!).

- Tremaines (hilarious schtick - fun to watch them riff off each other). :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

-HM ghost sisters (bawdy Golden Girls-type pseudo-villains and super entertaining - LOVE THEM) :joyfull: :joyfull:

-Gaston (the one who went insanely viral - his edgy/flirty/chauvinist-jerk schtick was genius and fun to watch -*sigh*) :inlove: :hilarious:

- Megara (love her sassy swagger and how she refers to the wives and girlfriends as goddesses. "Why yes, Megara, I AM HIS GODDESS!" Lol! ) :cautious::cool:

PS: A wish list...

Ursula as a face character would be an interesting one that could be fun to meet. Costume would have to be amazing with a great airbrush makeup job.

If Darth Vader could talk via a voice changer via his mask it would be awesome.... Mickey talks now, why can't Darth?

The Tremaines are defiantly out regularly in MK near the brick wall in fantasyland, they rotate with the fairy godmother, as said above they also do the dinner at 1900 park fare, they're great! I've seen the Evil Queen at character pooloza in HS, they might have some other villains show up there on occasion, check Kenny the pirate for info on that, I believe someone above me posted the link to his site

The Queen of Hearts is also seen on occasion.
