Mears Transportation

We will be using Mears this Friday and I was wondering how they were. Do we get to go to WDW immediately or do we have to wait. Is there constant trips being made back and forth, or do they have a specific time table they use?

I have used Mears the past few years when going to WDW on business (for a conference) and the service has been very mediocre. I have generally had to wait at least 30-45 mins for a shuttle. If you do end up having to use them make sure you get your tix ahead of time - the desk doesn't even open until 8am I believe .. you'll just sit there if you arrive any earlier. You can save a little money but I'd have a read over Belle's previous post if I were you.

If you have at least 4 in your party...use QuickSilver.

Mears has always been frustrating...

walking will get you there quicker...

I echo the Quicksilver suggestion. The last few times we've used Mears, it was between 1 and 2 hours before we hit our resort, the worst time was when the driver could not find our resort, circling WDW property twice looking for the Coronado Springs. That happened after taking 2 trips through the airport picking up passengers. We never found out if the other family still on the shuttle when we arrived at Coronado Springs reached their resort.

We've used Quicksilver twice and both times they were great. They meet you at the escalator by baggage claim, help you claim your luggage and then take you directly to your resort without stopping to drop off others. At the end of your stay, they pick you up and take you to the airport again without having to leave too early so they can pick up others at different resorts.

we've only ever been to WDW twice
Dec 03
and
Dec 04

now the first time we went (we stayed on idrive) and they were a NIGHTMARE shuttles didn't turn up, shuttles turned up late.
we were stood in Epcot Parking for over 2 hours one night, we put in a formal complaint.
We went back this December just gone, dreading the idea of using them again, but our rep advised us they'd turned around and been really good.
We were staying just opposite Seaworld, well, we used them in total about 9 times that stay. 8 times they were on time (give or take 5-10mins)
Once they didn't arrive, we called them after they were over 10 mins late and they sent a taxi out to us which took us wherever we wanted to go at no extra charge.

Always book early.
expect to take the "long" way around, but we weren't in the car/bus/coach more than half an hour

it was a welcome sit down at the end of the day.
