Mears Transportation

HI all! Got a question. Has anyone ever used Mears to travel from a WDW resort to Universal? Any info would be great. We are going to Disney in January and have free tickets to UIA. We are flying in and will not be renting a car because we will be on property most of the time. I have heard they have a shuttle that will pick up somewhere on property to take you over. I think it is about $24 round trip.

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, Mears does roundtrips from WDW to Universal and IOA. The rate I think is only $14.00 per person, not $24.00 (not 100% sure though).

We are the transportation sponsor here at WDWMAGIC and would be happy to assist you. My first question is, how many are in your party? Depending on the number we might be cheaper than Mears. :sohappy:

We also offer transportation to and from WDW and IOA, but in private vehicles (sedans and Vans). Our rates for your whole party are $70.00 for a Sedan and $85.00 for a Van.

By the way, do you have airport transfers arranged yet? :)

For any questions or concerns feel free to contact us at any time or visit our website.

Regards,

Gregory Nicolas.

Thank you for your info! It is only my husband and I. We will keep Quicksilver in mind. We usually use Tiffany but are always looking to try someone new.

Thank you!

Your rates are great! How far in advance do we need to book? We will need a round trip from the airport and possibly the roundtrip from our resort to IOA.

Thanks.

48 hours are usually enough time to make your reservation. :)

The rates above are for Islands Of Adventure (IOA) from WDW (roundtrip), not International Orlando Airport. I hope I did not confuse you. :(

From the airport roundtrips to WDW are in average $95.00, which includes a 30 minutes free stop for groceries, a 10 minutes long distance call, meet and greet at the baggage claim area, and of course, the driver will help you with your luggage. :animwink:

Thanks again,

Gregory Nicolas.

Is the $7 per person and is that round trip ? What are your hours ? We are looking to be at IOA and Universal at 8 AM on Wed Aug 25 and 26 respectively. ( Early entry days ) Do you call when you are ready to be picked up or do you set a time with the driver when he drops you off ? Thanks. We already have our airport transfers as part of our package. Also, do you have transportation to Sea World ? What are your rates ? We are planning on going to Sea World on Sunday Aug 29.

Hi saltmom1,

The roundtrip with the Mears shuttle is $14.00 ($7.00 each way), not 100% sure though.

We work 24hours, so no problem with the early pick-up at 7:30am going to IOA and Universal. Our rates are $70.00 with a Sedan (up to 4 passengers) and $85.00 with a Van (up to 10 passengers). To Seaworld they are $65.00 and $80.00. :)

You will have to schedule your return time with us when you call to reserve, but if you need to be picked up earlier or later just contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you (no promises though). :animwink:

For any further questions feel free to contact us at any time.

Regards,

Gregory Nicolas.

I should clarify the price. That is the average price. You can go to mearstransportation.com. On the right side of the page is a pricing list. Just find your point of origin ( Airport, Disney hotel, hotel off property, etc and your destination and you can get your exact price.

JMHO, but I would not use Mears if it was free. I have used them in the past and I swore never again. The vans are dirty, the drivers somewhat rude and they are more like a bus service than a personalized service. Again, this is just my opinion, but, if I am going to pay them that kind of money I would go for the personalized service companies like Quicksilver provide.
I have read nothing but excellent things about Quicksilver and I would not hesitate to use them if I were not renting a car.

What do you mean more like a bus service??? LOL!!! When that big "Greyhound" bus pulled up to CBR to take us back to the airport, I knew then they WERE a bus service!!!

I didn't mind though, for some STRANGE odd reason, I kinda like riding on this big busses every now and then.

I will only use the town car companies. Great individualized attention. No stops anywhere else except your destination. It’s the best investment when you just want to get off the plane and to your hotel. Most will also stop at a convenience store on the way. When we took Mears we stopped at 4 other locations before getting to our hotel.

Thats a bit harsh sayin you would not use Mears even if it was free. I also dont think that the drivers are rude in all the times we have used Mears services. And i wouldnt say that the shuttle vans are that dirty. I dont have a bad word to say about Mears. When we arrive in Orlando we have been up usually for about 20 hours and want to get to the resort. We have never had a prob at MCO and i also dont mind stopping at other places, as long as its in WDW, for the simple reason that its been a long day and its been a year since we were last at WDW and at last im here and dont care, just time to relax.

One other small point. Mears is a shuttle bus service and it is not advertised as being a personalized service, Mears does tho provide a Town Car service and a limo service for those wanting a more personal service.

Again just my opinion and i dont mean to have a go at others cos i respect what u all say as everyone will have a different experience.

I dont remember anyone being rude or the buses being dirty with Mears. The service as far as I remember was fine. It's just if I want to relax I would rather be at the resort pool than on a bus making a bunch of stops.

When i said relax i meant for the 30 mins it takes to get from MCO to POR after a day of travelling and so dont mind having to go to other resorts. I didnt mean that was the best place to relax or something like that.

Since there are only 3 in my party, we use Mears when going to US cause it's cheaper for us.

Hi everyone,

the bottom line is :
If you have less than 3 in your party, Mears shuttle is a good option (if you want to save some extra money for WDW :) ). Their rate is $29.00 per person roundtrip. Service will vary from driver to driver, Van to Van, and of course which time of the year it is.

If you have 3 or more, a Towncar service like ours is your best bet. It saves you time, you ride in comfort, a private chauffeur to meet and greet you, help with your bags, and you also get the 30 minutes free stop for last minute groceries. (roundtrip flat rate to most WDW resorts with a Towncar is $95.00). :)

I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Please contact us at any time.

Regards,

Gregory Nicolas.
