Mc Donalds in disney theme parks

I'm sure it was money, but Disney said that they thought McDonald's was too unhealthy, which was very funny at the time because there was almost no healthy food to be founding WDW, lol. Immediately after that, they added some healthier menu items.

Food & Wine is okay, as are the cheeseburgers, funnel cakes, churros, turkey legs and cinnamon rolls.

The Disney line, though, was that McDonald's was too unhealthy.

Only ever had some fries outside Tower of Terror once but that is all I remember of McDonald's being in the parks themselves. Wish they brought back the Downtown Disney one though :(

McDonald's at Disneyland Paris is amazing though. Food prices in the park are like £10 ($18) just for a small burger, fries, drink and dessert. So we went to McDonald's in Disney Village and got large Big Mac meals with with large fries, large drink and McFlurries for only £6 ($10) each. Great service.

I wish they'd put a McDonalds back in the parks! With Disney exclusive toys in Happy Meals. This "health kick" thats going on now is going way overboard. People can eat whatever they want to eat, and no one should stop them.

I think they got rid of them for the same reason they no longer give out Disney Toys in Happy Meals. Part of their healthier food thing.
If they had eliminated the corn dogs I might believe that theory... but I can't imagine a happy meal is less healthy than a corn dog fries and coke.

all the hate on mickey d's, oh man lol.

I can understand though. One poster said that it was a great snack for her kids. And I agree, it was a fantastic mid day snack.

Like I said, I can understand why people hated it, personally I loved it. Because, do you ever get in the mood for a real specific food? For example, if I want Burger King and I'm right by a White Castle, that ain't gonna cut it. Know what I'm saying?

Sometimes, Mickey D cravings hit in disney and it was just convenient to have it right there in the parks. I miss it, but that's just me

McDonald's is the big easy target. You always hear people complaining about happy meals and and McDonald's being unhealthy. There are tons a restaurants selling the same stuff.

TOOOOTALLY ok with them being gone. There are a million QS places you can get a basket of fries, or a fruit bowl or something anywhere you look just about. Their presence brought nothing to the parks.

Are you going to be okay with the new Starbucks on property?

I'm sorry, but have you actually seen our guests?! A sizable percentage of the daily guests that walk past you are in serious need of healthier eating.

No one is stopping you from going to McDonalds. You can still go to one at WDW or several right off property. They're just not putting any back in the parks.

That being said, I do love their french fries.

I know what you mean about some of the guests. But it doesn't seem like the health kick is stopping them anytime soon!

We need time for things to happen.
I'm not a huge fan of Mick-E- D's and frankly we haven't eaten at one since my son got on this huge "no fast food" kick because of the whole pink slime thing he saw on You Tube...The kid used to live off of chicken nuggets...not anymore!!! And we're all living a little bit healthier because of it.

ANYWAY - I will say this..they make a pretty d*mn good french fry....but I won't miss them in the parks.

I agree with you Dave, the obesity epidemic is so much more complicated than most people realize.

Our food supply is controlled by such a small group of large companies, we need to start standing up to them and demanding healthier choices. The "health kick" is far from going overboard, it hasn't gone nearly far enough! These companies brainwash and addict the population with their over processed, mechanized, industrial foods. I used to love McDonald's french fries too until I saw how they were made!

OMG you're Preaching to the Choir. I'm assuming you've read "Fast Food Nation"? The way our food is created and manufactured in this country is reprehensible.

My point with Disney is that lately, I'm trying to eat fruit, maybe a plain soft pretzel and drink water in the parks instead of gourding myself on the other offerings. You can get an Orange for $1.50 or less, you can get free ice water. Better foods for you that keep you going when you walk 40-50 miles in the parks over the course of a week. Well before sitting down to that nice meal at that nice restaurant.

Except when I'm enjoying libations at Epcot.

Are they really putting one on property?? :(

I don't drink Starbucks at all...the most "coffee" type thing I drink is hot chocolate and I get it from a Mom and Pop shop here in the Springs!

Yes. In the Main Street Bakery & Fountain View Bakery. They will be a third-party, operating participant. There wont be any starbucks signage to my understanding.

"Food Nation" was a HUGE eyeopener for me! I agree, we avoid counter service at the parks like the plague. If we need to get lunch we usually head to crossroads to Sweet Tomatoes.

All bets are off when it comes to Epcot though ;)

Starbucks is going to be sold from the Main Street Bakery.

Well, I'm still grumpy they no longer serve butter with the baguettes in France.
