Maybe one reason folks are still going to WDW

You’re probably confusing it with primanti brothers…which is frankly as overrated as you can get.

They have a decent burger joint…Burghatory…which I do like. Not bad.
Some good breweries(Penn Brewery made an Oktoberfest that was great)and chicken wing places, Primanti for sure overrated. I don't recall too many fine dining places, fried foods tend to be the du jour

It's no wonder why I have a hard time relating to most of you. I find all of these places that have been mentioned expensive and on the higher end of vacation destinations.

When I was growing up we did Disney a couple of times but for the most part our Florida vacation was always Madeira Beach.

That’s the standard AC gimmick. They try to make 7 days worth of revenue between 3 pm Friday and 3 pm Sunday in the summer

$600 on Friday…$89 on Tuesday

Lather, rinse, repeat
yep. I just looked up Caesarsfor this week, I can stay Monday to Thursday for $77. $238 for Friday and ...here we go...$999.00 for Saturday. I get it's legal but Great Caesar's ghost! lol

True, but I grew up reading the papers and I don’t EVER remember reading about a shark attack in Jersey waters pre or post Jaws…just like growing up I had NEVER heard the term rip current…it was always referred to as an undertoe…🤷‍♂️
When Jaws came out, there was LOT of publicity over shark attacks, and that opened the door to LOTS of shark hunting.

There have been shark attacks in Jersey. Not many, but some. For example, there was a spate of 5 shark attacks in NJ in between July 1 and July 12, 1916. They caused a big sensation and the NJ beaches lost quite a bit of money as a result.

Part of jaws was filmed off MA, and even MA has had a few shark attacks. (Some MA dates: 1936, July 1996, Feb 1965: wet suit diver).

Yes, I know about those attacks…as a matter of fact, Peter Benchley BASED Jaws on those attacks in the teens that actually occurred in back bays and tributaries of the Raritan Bay NOT the Atlantic Ocean. I was just making a point that in my youth, we never heard reports of shark attacks at the rate that we’re currently hearing them now. Of course, sharks were just as hungry back then…and we probably tasted just as good with all that Coppertone tanning butter slathered on ourselves…

One reason I went to Typhoon Lagoon years ago was the unique experience of Shark Reef where I swam in one direction directly right above the baby sharks in freezing 60 degree water.

When they filmed Jaws up at Marthas Vineyard in the Summer of 1974 a small shark that washed up on the beach. They had so many problems filming and only made one deadline, the part pulling off the end of the dock. It has to be filmed and everyone off the property by June 1, 1974.
