my wife has decided that we will go on vacation to San Francisco in October to see her relatives.. She asked me, what part of this area did I really want to see.. I said that its all fine to me.. because its her vacation.. its what SHE wants to do.. and I truly want to make her happy..

But I said.. what would make the vacation great for me is a day at Disneyland.

so maybe , just maybe.. I am going to Disneyland for a day..:)

its totally up to her..

however.. the next vacation is mine... and you can bet that there will be Florida sand in my suitcase when I get home..

Heres hoping you go!!! San Francisco is a great city with lots to see and do, but theres always Disneyland :)

Oct is a great time to go, with the HalloweenTime events in full swing. Haunted Mansion Holiday will be open as well as Woody's Halloween Roundup and some other little things here and there. Theres no parade or fireworks yet :( DCA has a Halloween party called Mickey's Tick or Treat.

I'll be in DL in October!

Nemo, what do you mean, "There's no parade or fireworks yet."?

Opps, I meant no Halloween themed parades or fireworks, Well DCA's Halloween party has a little calavade.
But Parade of Dreams is on the schedule everyday as well as Remember on the weekends. :)

Hope you're ready for a long drive then, because DL is 6-7 hours away from San Francisco.

Yea it is and a boring one to theres nothing but flat lands and a set of stinky cows :D Actually if you drive fast you can get there in about 5 and a half hours, thats assuming you dont hit traffic :)

As others have said, it's a good 6 hour drive from San Francisco to Anaheim. It can easily be an 8 hour drive if you hit traffic in either metro area, or you stop for a meal longer than 20 minutes.

To give you an upper midwest point of reference, it's about the same distance as driving from Minneapolis to Chicago, but with a better chance of hitting bad traffic in either city.

If they don't hit traffic I'll be very surprised!!

To the OP- hopefully you'll get to experience DL!

not going to happen..

Well we figured that it would cost us three days and over 600 dollars to get to Disneyland from Frisco.. its a 6 hour drive.. so a day down and a day back plus park tickets and hotel..

its not going to happen.. and I am not exactly happy about it. but it's not affordable for one day..

With more planning next time, maybe you could take a couple days to do the Disneyland day? I'd suggest driving the 1/101 down. It's FAR more scenic! It's a little longer, but's BEAUTIFUL.
