Maybe An October Trip??

So my mom will be coming "home" to CT from Florida for my nieces wedding, and then we'll do an early 100th birthday celebration for her before she heads back down to Florida. The plan is for me and my DH to fly back with her, spend a few days in Delray Beach, and then head up to WDW. I've never been at Halloween (well Columbus Day in '81, but no decorations back then). It would be for 4-5 days, probably heading home November 1st. I don't want to pay for parking with our rental car at the resort, so would we be able to drive up to Orlando Airport, drop off the rental car and take Magical Express w/o actually "flying" in? We'd have our suitcases with us. And then since we will make our final decision in July, do you think we could get tickets for MNSSHP?

I don't think so. Without you flying in, your bags would/will not have gone through the screening process so Disney would not likely accept you on the Magical Express bus. Call them and ask directly though. You have nothing to lose by calling.

Respectfully disagree, Steve. You don’t need to use the bag tags on luggage to utilize Magical Express. We often fly with carry-ones only and board DME.

@Disnee4Me, call DME as the others have suggested. I assume you will be using DME back to the airport for your flight home anyway? Many guests with late arriving flights spend the night at the airport and use DME the following morning without difficulty. You shouldn’t have any problem.

You should still be able to purchase MNSSHP tickets in July, but know that parties on 10/30 and 10/31 sell out early ~ so purchase as soon as you confirm your dates.

Thanks. I figured why pay for a rental car to sit in the parking lot for 4-5 days and also pay for the car being parked, unused.

I would assume that to use DME, guests would have to show their Airline tickets. I would like to see what DME says...PLEASE POST THEIR RESPONSE so we can know and help others with the same questi0on in the future!

My SIL flew in on a Thursday a couple of weeks ago, took luggage and stayed at a hotel near the airport that night. Took a taxi to the airport the next day and used Magical Express just fine and they kept their luggage with them. She was told to provide a flight number close to the time she was getting there so she would be in the system as needing DME. On the flight back to the airport she just did things normally.

No, you do not need to show your airline ticket. Magical Express functions on a resort reservation, not an airline reservation.
