May trip - Questions for the experts

I am heading to Disney World in a month! Getting down to the wire and I have a couple questions for all you smarty-pants.

1) Which phone app should I make my boyfriend download? (He's the one with the smart phone.) I've heard good things about the touringplans.com one.

2) If I want the late-night, adult humor Jungle Cruise experience, should I try to go on a night when the Magic Kingdom is open until 1 am? Or would I get the same experience riding it at the end of a night when they close at 10 or 11?

3) On Star Wars weekends, do they do any special park opening ceremonies at Hollywood Studios? I heard something about stormtroopers taking over last year and I'd love to see it. Hopefully they are doing something like that again.

4) Do I need to worry about this fastpass+, or magic band, or whatever the heck it is? I'm trying to stay on top of the news and rumors regarding the testing phases, but at this point, it's all just confusing me. I'm hoping they are still going to have the regular fastpass kiosks there in mid-May so I don't have to worry about reserving a ride time for Space Mountain 4 weeks in advance.

Thanks a bunch. I did some searching on the forums, but things change so quickly at Disney that I never know if the info is old, and I know a lot of you live nearby or go often enough to have up-to-date info.

OK, I'm not an expert, lol, but I'll answer, anyway.

1. Lines is the best, but you need a touringplans subscription for it and that will set you back an entire $12. If you don't want to pay the gigantic sum of $12 (well worth it, IMO), just use the Disney one. It's as good as the rest of the bunch.

2. JC varies depending on who you get and their mood of the moment. There is no bad or good time to go, really.

3. Don't know. I avoid that. :)

4. Don't worry. It seems unlikely that you would have to deal with it, but if you do, they will explain it to you.

Have a great trip!

1. Use the official Disney one. Even though it can be kind of iffy sometimes, it provides the most accurate wait times (if that's what you're going to use it for).

2. You'll most likely get the traditional Jungle Cruise experience no matter when you ride. I rode it at about 10:30 at night and it was just me and two other adults and we had the same spiel that you would get if you ride it mid day.

4. Most likely, you will not have to worry about any of the Next Gen things since if they wanted you to use them they probably would have contacted you about it by now.

Have a great trip!!!

1. There are just too many apps to choose from, but I only look at the FREE ones.;)
2. I have never heard of a "late night" adult humor JC experience?:eek:
3. I have never been to SWW.:(
4. No need to worry. The FP kiosks are still there.;)
Have a magical vacation!:D

The Adult Jungle Cruise really depends on the Skipper. Your best bet is if you are the only ones on the boat and request it. The time you're most likely to have a private boat is really late at night when the Jungle is dead. Jungle Cruise is also one of the attractions that does not stay open for Extra Magic Hours. However, even if you do request it, the Skipper might not know the "adult" spiel or they might be sticklers for professionalism and pretend like you don't know what you're talking about…
