I think the biggest thing is that we used to have things to look forward to. Disney lately has over sold, underwhelmed and underperformed.
Trust.

Each positive = more trust
Each negative = less trust

IMO, there is a great metaphorical piggy bank of trust. If someone/something I trust gives me reasons to trust them, then I overlook a few negatives. Each time they betray my trust, a trust-coin comes out of the piggy bank. Not all deposits/withdrawals are the same of course.

It takes multiple deposits to replenish an empty piggy bank.

To answer OP's question, I spent a little time talking about Star Wars while wearing a SW shirt. I will probably watch something SW this weekend.

Well, you can go to Ticonderoga, here in NY to see the original sets and maybe time your visit to meet some of the franchise actors: https://www.startrektour.com/general-information/
Or go to Riverside, Iowa to see https://trekfest.org/

Then there's the Starwarsathon on TBS where all the movies have been showing in chronological order. Like the old Star Trek, some of these movies show their age like 60's TV advertisements for RadioShack®.
But what I am gradually realizing is that Episode I, II and III are not very good except that III gives you the story behind Darth Vader and the Emperor. Jar-Jar Binks?
Solo? Really?
IV, V, VI will always be at the top with Rogue One, VII and VIII. And the last, Episode IX, well, that kinda ruined some of the Skywalker mystique by turning him into a cosmic and angry Boo Radley.
I don't think Disney is finished trying to wring everything out of this franchise as possible to keep it relevant for their theme parks and justify their cost of purchasing Lucas Films.

I get what you are saying, but I think these kind of threads are good. There is a lot of negativity here. Very different atmosphere from when I first joined. People used to share happy WDW stories, not just complaints. I Know people still do, but its less then it was. And there may be people not wanting to share because they don't want to be told what they are excited about is a waste of time or money or told they sound like a 5yr old. Yes that has happened. There was a lot less snark as well.

I'm all for sharing what is bad show or what Disney can do better and even the terrible job evil Bobby C is doing.
Its gone beyond that though. People actively 💩 on others excitement of WDW. Just the other day I got asked if there anything I didn't like about WDW, like it was a requirement. There are lots of things I think are bad show. Disney is certainly not beyond reproach. The downers can keep on covering all that. Life is to short to be a grumpy gus. @ppete1975 you keep on making your happy threads.

I agree with you. I'd rather people just be honest and I don't want them to fake that their happy just because their struggles and dissatisfaction offends people. If this board was run by the company or received kickbacks from them, I could see motivation to clean the discussion up some, but I do strongly believe that if we sit back and do nothing and keep shelling out the money, nothing will improve.

While there will always be a negative bias in these discussions (as I've said elsewhere, if you're happy and satisfied you're less likely to need to talk about it) you can certainly tell when there's only a slightly negative bias vs. an obvious and serious problem.
