We have always gone in April and that is my preferred tradition. However, with our son now in school (he's currently in 1st grade), I'm not sure I want to keep him out of school for 2 weeks, as he gets older and his schoolwork gets more intense. It's fine right now in 1st grade, and maybe even in 2nd grade, but as he gets older, I'm not sure it's a good idea. Plus, we have a daughter that will be starting pre-school next year. Additionally, I would kind of like to see Star Wars weekends one of these years, which is in May, so I am entertaining the idea of waiting until May for next year's trip, right after school gets out.
I was checking Allears.net, and for some reason which I can't fathom, all they have up is 2012 rates. But at least according to 2012 rates, "regular" season runs through the end of May and then summer season begins June 1. Is this always the case? Is that what I can count on if we go next year? I know in regards to April, it depends when Easter falls as to whether we get regular or peak season. But does that (or anything else) affect how the seasons switch between May and June? I don't know if we would be going the last two weeks of May, or the last week of May and the 1st week of June. As I weigh the pros and cons of continuing to take him out of school in April vs waiting until right after school is out in May, it would be helpful to know how the prices would compare.
