May Attendance

This won't change my plans since my trip is booked and crowds or not, it's Disney World. I just want to have a realistic expectation for the crowd level, how much I'll actually be able to do and how much I may need to plan to do them. I'm arriving on May 5th.

I thought I'd skipped the Spring Break crowds, but I forgot about the Food & Wine Festival. Does this affect overall attendance or just make Epcot/World Showcase a madhouse?

We are going but don't arrive till the 17th. Was hoping the crowds didn't start showing up till later in the week closer to Memorial Day weekend. When do most schools get out? We live in Alabama and we are actually taking our boys out for the last week to get a head start.

Disney is in no way a "madhouse during this time, traditionally. If you are looking for "dead," you are better off going the 2nd and 3rd weeks of January.

I was there last year from May 6th to the 13th. Crowds were really not too much of an issue except at Soarin and Test Track. Splash mountain wait times around noon and 1pm were only about 30 minutes during the week, which I'd say is pretty darn good. But don't wait that long for Soarin, TT, etc.

Like someone said earlier... if you get your major stuff in at the rope drop each day, then it will be an easy week for you.

That week will probably have some elevated attendance levels compared to the prior three weeks but you should be ok if you go to the parks in the morning and hit the major rides first. Towards the end of the week you will see more folks in the parks.
