Saratoga Springs opens

The seventh DVC resort opened, including Old Key West Resort, BoardWalk Villas, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club Villas, Vero Beach Resort and the Hilton Head Island Resort.

If you look at how many of these resorts have opened in the last few years, you can realy see that DVC is one of the most profitable divisions of the WDW resort.

MAGIC KINDOM NEWS

With so many rehabs underway,
I will not rename them all, but will provide a few insights in current ones, or future ones.....

ONGOING REHABS, that are NOT causing DOWNTIMES for the location, include....

Jungle Cruise....When I last rode a few weeks ago, I noticed that the beach's had been repainted, the guys on the poll being chaced by the rhino, had brand new custumes on. I also talked with the CM's who told me that the animatronics were being cylced out, rehabed, and replaced, at a much faster then normal pace. They also told me that most of the the props around the dock and queue will be refreshed soon. Also looking at painting the rockwork.

Spash Mountain painting is nearly complete.....IT LOOKS GREAT!!! job well done here, in addition to BTMs new paint job, this area looks great.

Outdoor Food Carts....have been recieving much needed TLC after years of neglect.

WDI is looking at improving the detierating show lighting at various attraction around the park. HM, PotC.

MERCH shops all over the park will be getting minor repainrs here and there, such as paint, new counters, new theming, rediesgns, new floors and floorplans, lighting, ect ect.

''iasw''

From what I here, this is the first of the ''classics'' to get the VIP treatment. The next one? PotC, is what I here. Others? Pan? HM? who knows for sure.

So ''iasw'' will get audio inhancements, such as new sterio sound, speckers, lighting, and major changes to the load/unload area. I dont think that the Skyway building will be removed, but I can say tha for sure. Also, WDI may be enhacing some of the show scenes and completly changing one. The boats will be replaced with new ones as well.

Well thats about all I got for today.

Enjoy

Great update, they certainly seem to be getting the parks and especially MK ready for Disneyland's 50th anniversary!

Great update, especially about a possible rehab for PotC. I can barely make out the words, the sound is so bad.
Thanks again!

FLCM,

I was on the phone with a Ride and Show Engineer last week and he told me that IASW would not be getting any changes noticable to guests except the loading/unloading area. Based on this info, I don't think they would redo an entire scene.

Your most likely right, I personly didn't have to much faith in that particular rumor, witch is why I worded it losely with the word ''may''.

It's good to read that some of the work that all of us have been talking about on these boards is finally taking place. Here's hoping that the rehabs continue. I know it makes for some disappointment at times, but in the long run, it's what is best.

Thank you for the update.

So what's going to take a year to fix then?

You are so right!:sohappy: I think we all owe a debt of gratitude to all the DVC members who have committed to those lifetime memberships. Their "investments" have been a large factor in keeping resort prices in line.

Next time you hear from a DVC member, be sure to tell them you appreciate their commitment.

FLCastMember,

So it the Skyway going to be the new "Stroller" area?

Any word on if they are actually going to try and recreate the exterior of DL's version here in Florida (ie-have a big clock tower and animatronics in the loading area).

Thanks :)

Actually, I did hear that WDI was changing an entire scene... the exit scene. But if they remove the Say De Krap sign I'll kill em. LOL As for Kevin's question, expect it to be similar to DL's, not the same. :) For example, I don't think we're getting switches and dual loading docks. Yet I'm hopeful we'll get the clock tower, but if we get the clock tower, we have to get the Matterhorn wind sound effect too. ;) If you've ever been to Disneyland, you know that you can't have one without the other. It's just not right. ;)
