Hi everyone, so I am finally going back to Disney world this year after a 5 year absence and will be going with two friends. I normally would go the second week of June and am familiar with crowd levels of that month. I would just like to hear what others have experienced who have gone during the time frame of mid May. Crowd levels of the parks, any tips or advice. It's my friends first time going and I want to make sure that it's the best it can be for them. Thanks in advance for any info!

My friend and I will be there, so that's 2 people at least.

That does hit on Memorial Day weekend, which can be busy. The 22nd is the day MK is open 24 hours, but I don't know how much that alone draws people.

The 24 hour even draws huge crowds, according to the Cm I talked to last year, the day after. I think you should be great for mid May for weather and crowds. Plenty of people, but not so many as to make it feel very crowded. Have a great trip!

If you get a park hopper, you can go to MK until the crowds are unbearable, then go to another park for awhile. It will be nice to know you have the option to go back at 3 am! LOL

Star Wars Weekends will be going on at DHS during your time, so DHS will be very crowded on the weekends. I'd go there during the week to avoid those crowds.

Personally, I avoid the parks with extra Magic Hours and follow the recommendations of the crowd calendars as much as I can.

Because you're arriving May 16, you still have a chance to catch the tail end of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival which runs through May 17.

Also the first Star Wars Weekend in HS is May 15-17.

It is for these two reasons I have a trip planned for May 12-18.
