Yes, its coming, and since I have lost interest in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, which was a very successful thread, I felt I might as well start something new. I am currently working on a website for Max Payne 2, which should be up shortly. As for now, here is the official press release.

May 12, 2003--Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing division of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO - News) is proud to announce Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne, the next installment in the blockbuster Max Payne franchise. Developed by Remedy Entertainment, Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne for the PC is expected to hit retail shelves Fall 2003.

When Max Payne debuted in July 2001 as an award-winning, best-selling PC game, it revolutionized the action genre with its cinematic combat sequences fueled by the groundbreaking use of slow motion and compulsive narrative-driven gameplay. Later that year, console audiences were equally impressed by the stylish, urban, revenge-driven story of a fugitive cop with nothing to lose and Max Payne went on to achieve "Greatest Hits" status on PlayStation®2 and "Platinum Hits" recognition on Xbox®. Now, the highly anticipated Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne for the PC will be unveiled to an extremely select audience by invitation only at this year's E3.

Details regarding the release of the console versions of Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne will be made available at a later date.

Like I always said with RCT2, keep checking back for more updates!!!!

Also, please make a post and let me know if you are interested in Max Payne 2. I'm very busy this summer and I don't want to update this thread if no one is interested. THANKS!!! :)

I thought Max Payne was cought at the end of the first game. I personally am sick of the matrix and the millions of clones all the time. I'm into Vice City for the time being, and of course old video games.

Yeah I agree with you....

The Getaway and even Enter the Matrix are COPYING The Matrix. Max Payne was the first game to use the bullet time technology in the game, which is why I am venturing out and choosing Max Payne 2.

As for the game, Max was caught at the end of the first game, but if you remember his cop friend told him he would get him out. We'll have to see where the story goes.

The first Max Payne drove me insane. It was fun until the drug induced dream sequences had me falling off pipes in the darkness over and over again.

Are you sure it was drugs? The whole point of the dream was to make it feel like a nightmare and it worked really good. It seemed like you were walking down a hallwall and it seemed like the room where you could hear someone was screaming very close, but yet so far away. And then you had to walk on the blood to get somewhere which was hard. It was actually alot of work now that I think about it. It had a good storyline.

Yeah, those dreams were manifested because Max drank (put in his drink) or was injected with Valquir (spelling?). They were great for effect but those blood trails that you had to follow in the pitch black dark???...I didn't like that at ALL.

UPDATE...New Information

Havok Physics in Max Payne 2

Havok has posted a newsletter detailing the use of their engine in games such as Half Life 2, Deus Ex 2, Thief 3 and of course Max Payne 2. In this newsletter there is a quote from Markus Stein of Remedy Entertainment, developers of the Max Payne games, commenting on the new physics engine implemented in Max Payne 2:

"Since we started using Havok physics, their support has been very well organized and professional and they have helped the Remedy team a lot during the physics engine integration. We have achieved a high degree of customization in a short time-frame while implementing widespread collision detection and character controllers for the game. We are very happy with the performance, too, and the integration of new features is generally easy. We are confidant that Havok will save us lots of time and money further down the road. So far we are only scratching its very surface." Markus Stein, Remedy.

Havoc for those of you that don't know is a photorealistc physics engine that helps to simulate human, environment, car, and special effects physics making them look like real world effects.

Keep checking back for more updates!
