It's been announced that Matt Smith will be leaving after the Xmas Special :(

I was sad when David Tennant left that I refused to watch the new doc, but I did and thought he was brilliant! Just when you get to like them! Don't think I can get attached to another! :eek:

It will be interesting to see who they cast as the Doctor next. I was sad to see David Tennant leave the show, but Matt Smith did start to grow on me. Although in my opinion, I still much prefer David Tennant's interpretation of the Doctor, and prefer the old team that used to work on the writing and production of the show. Somehow, to me anyway, it's just not quite the same as it used to be.

I would have said yes to this too but I'm not totally sure. The Doctor needs to be someone who can be serious at times and humorous at other times. Benedict seems to be mainly a serious character. I can't really imagine him being the Doctor. Just my opinion though. :) And Yes he is doing Sherlock right now.

The writing and production of the show used to be so much better than it is now.

David Tennant was my favourite, and like you I was just getting to like Matt Smith! I agree the writing isn't as good either!

Awwww no, I can't stand him, Dr Who needs charisma, Benedict Cucumber has none!

No way, I can't stand the man! I refused to watch when he was the Dr, except for the one set in war time 40's when the kids walked around in gas masks! (WW2 fan!)
He takes himself too seriously, he refused to take part in the 50th Anniversary episode!

Agreed with all of you, I never liked the 9th Doctor..just no. no.
I heard about Matt Smith leaving on Monday :( DON'T LEAVE. They always get rid of the best!
BUT, they had some candidates for the new Doctor, some said Billie Piper (no, Rose can't be the Doctor, she used to be a friend of the Doctor's..just no)
They also had some guy from Being Human (forgot his name), and also..Rupert Grint! :D as I am a fan of his (Harry Potter FTW), it would be nice to see a Ginger Doctor! He has good humour, and can be serious (watch the last HP movie..you'll understand). Plus he drives an ice cream truck..:P

P.S. I agree about Benedict. He's Sherlock to me. Not the Doctor. With him as the Doctor... :confused:

It would be great to finally see the doctor as a ginger but I get where those people are predicting Grint because yes he does have great humour and can be serious but I'm not sure that I can see him as the Doctor either...
