Hi all!

Ryan got us tickets to see Mary Poppins on Broadway for my birthday! We'll be going in the beginning of April-perfect prelude to our April 30-May 8 WDW trip! So excited!!! Although I've sen MANY Broadway shows, I've never seen a Disney show.

Anyone seen it? I've heard wonderful things about it.

I haven't seen it - but my cousin was telling me is was more dark (like wizardry type dark) than peppy - sort of on the style of Wicked, if you've seen that (which I have also not seen). She definitely enjoyed it - but said it wasn't the same tone as the movie. I'm sure someone will come along that's seen it - but no one commented yet - so I figured I'd pass along my minimal second-hand info. :D

Enjoy the show!

I've seen it a bunch of times, in London, in NY, and on tour...

It's a great shot -- it isn't "dark" but it isn't the movie either -- it keeps all the movie music, but the book (the script) follow the book more than the movie.

It is in no way "dark" thought -- it's fun, bright, and is absolutely filled with stage magic...

What it DOES do is increase the family story-line, so you get to know more about what drives the dad, why things are getting dire, and what happens when children don't listen to their nannies...

You will love it!

Ohh okay that sounds great! I love the movie so I'm sure I'll love the play if it follows the book more. Thank you!! So excited!

I saw it at the Kennedy Center in DC. It was great. Its more related to the novels than the movie that Disney did. But I promise you won't be disappointed.
