I'm super excited! I went ahead and booked a Marvel Day at Sea cruise on the Dream next month! While I've been on the Dream before, this will be my first time doing a Marvel cruise (so really looking forward to it)
Do you have kids who are Marvel fans? ( Husband/spouse/SO counts )I'm super excited! I went ahead and booked a Marvel Day at Sea cruise on the Dream next month! While I've been on the Dream before, this will be my first time doing a Marvel cruise (so really looking forward to it)
Looking at one in early March because wife and I would enjoy it but not sure because kids are not at all into Marvel so we feel it may be a waste. I understand the Marvel stuff is one day.
But it really does sound like fun!
This was my daughter's conclusion, as well. She enjoyed it, but she wouldn't look specifically to book it again, although she would happily do it again if it just happened to be a date that she was looking to travel anyway. To me, it's not worth specifically booking a MDAS cruise unless you have Marvel fans
To me, it's not worth specifically booking a MDAS cruise unless you have Marvel fans looking to do M&G's and other Marvel-based activities on-board (and it is only one day). I took advantage of the "comic book check-out" on our MDAS cruise in 2023 (mostly to see what was available, as it was advertised as a "huge collection" of Marvel comics. The selection was pretty disappointing - about 50 select books from the past 6-8 years - for someone who has not read Marvel comics in over a decade) but that was literally the only Marvel-related activity we did. Our kids are well aged-out for the Marvel activities offered.
We're looking at some in the same week and comparing. We're considering because it's a 5 night cruise within $100 of a 4 night cruise on the Wish. MDAS is also $1k more as 5 nights than a 4 night on the Dream immediately after MDAS. Since we've never done a cruise this might be my 9 year old's only chance at Oceaneer Club before she turns 11 next year, hence why we are at least considering the Wish as well. This was my daughter's conclusion, as well. If I was ever going to do a cruise, that would be the one I'd pick.
My sister and I wanted to do a Marvel Day at Sea cruise but couldn’t work one into our schedules and budget for this year. Instead, we booked on the Destiny for next year. While it won’t have Marvel Day at Sea, it will supposedly have Marvel characters on board!

My daughter loved it quite a lot, and yes, it's only one day. But she thought it was very fun. She went with a friend who is a huge Spiderman fan and was absolutely over the moon. We did a podcast episode specifically about her sailing. If you'd like to hear her impressions, shoot me a message and I'll share the link with you.
I'm just gonna say it - if you are a character fan and a Marvel fan, I do hope you've visited Avengers Campus at DCA! It's character central for that universe! The only characters that are on the cruises that have not been to Campus are Wong, Nebula and if you want to count being able to meet the Tracksuit Mafia, I believe you can aboard ship but they also appear on Campus in the holiday stunt show. While I'm mainly looking forward to meeting the characters (that's my favorite part of the cruises), I'm also looking forward to the shows

I will be honest, I only remember seeing Spiderman at Worlds of Marvel when I was on the wish. It was my first cruise so I often found myself preoccupied with the soft serve…..I have seen select characters on the ships before (I met Thor and Captain America on the Magic last year, and Black Panther and Spiderman on the Wish in 2022). So I am curious to see who will be on the Destiny
