Marvel City?

When does the contract end? Surely US would not build anymore Marvel based attractions as this just promotes the Marvel/Disney brand?

Isn't the Quest concept basically dead at Disney with DQ surviving as it does solely because they have nothing else to put there? Lord knows they don't put any money into updating it so why all of a sudden would they go out and pay for a total makeover?

I has no end date, it lasts until Universal decides to give up the rights.

Sounds a strange contract for Dis to sign? Guess they must get some sort of percentage of any profit US make without any of the direct costs of building an attraction / having staff walking around the parks?

Disney did not sign the contract, Marvel Entertainment did in 1994. At the time it was a great deal for Marvel. They only get a set licensing fee and a cut of the merchandise profits.

So i assume Marvel (now Disney) get this cut, so maybe they are not too concerned - maybe they even like the fact that their "enemies" (noisey neighbours) advertise / promote their franchise, and PAY for the priviledge - lol.

Marvel still gets paid. It's their books that show the gains from these licenses. It trickles its way up to the overall financial reporting of The Walt Disney Company but it has no bearing on Walt Disney World or anybody else really. And whatever amount it is, chances are its not a lot of money as Marvel was not in a position to be asking for a lot in 1994.

Disney doesn't bother buying out the deal because it would likely cost them another $1 billion and Wall Street already thought the $4 billion for Marvel was way too much, they'll be even less kind about spending so much on theme park rights.
